Looks like it will be a CovCath/Highlands rematch on 10/31

And that's how it should be. The Best programs play each other. Every year. The cream always rises to the top. Both are Bluebloods in Kentucky High School Football.

And just two short years ago these kids were pretty much written off.  Showed progress last year and it has continued.  Guess that is what happens when coaches teach them the game and how it is played

Highlands beat Campbell County 29-14.

The 8th Grade Championship rematch.. The Birds take the win largely in part to their defense who only gave up one TD (the other was an incredible KR by CC before half) and had 2 INT’s.

Notables were Highlands QB Riesenbeck who was accurate on his throws and had a few 3rd down scrambles to keep the chains going, CC RB who was a shifty runner and I believe the player who returned the kickoff for a TD, and Birds RB Kremer who has been their X-Factor all year long.

Highlands vs Cov Cath for the championship will be a great one!

How long until we see the response to this, saying that all the best freshman are playing varsity and JV, and if they were playing freshman ball, SK would be undefeated?

Since you asked Freshmen  RB Mo Smith has played varsity and has not played in several weeks he is injured.

I hope he has a quick and full recovery. Unfortunately, I think the fact that freshman often play up at SK  says a lot more about the lack of depth at the varsity level than it does about the freshman players being ready to play there.

Not really they 4 or 5 running backs.

Ok, make that, lack of 'varsity level depth'.

I would love to know what the thought process was during that 7th grade season.   Thankfully, last year they had the leadership of a young man who had no hidden agendas.   I often wonder if those 7th grade coaches are keeping tabs on this group.   I've not seen a better QB, RB or WR throughout NKY.   The defense has played lights out all year too.

The Freshman Bluebirds look bigger, faster, and stronger. I can’t speak for the former 7th grade coaches but I would imagine they would have loved to have Kolt Kremer! Kid has been an absolute workhorse on both sides of the ball.1

Kolt has been a welcome addition. Great vision!!!   Not sure how connected you are but the 7th grade season was a nightmare.    Pulled the starting QB and ran a halfback passes for him whenever we were in third and long.   It was 2 different season.   Hopefully those guys are no longer involved and there are no more hidden agendas.  Looking forward to hanging the next state championship on the scoreboard
