I continue with the same line I've said constantly - it was time for both parties.  The line I had in this very thread was "Familiarity breeds complacency".  Cal got complacent.  The drive that he'd h

I think what would speak more to that is asking players that actually played for him...

Only 3 of Cals signed Class of 24 recruits will be following him to Arkansas now that Cyrill chose UGA/NBA and Quaintance chose Arizona state. So far only Big Z has followed from last years UK roster.

On the up side for Cal that gives him more flexibility in the portal to get some older players.

Should speak volumes about Cal’s real relationships with players!!

Don’t really see anyone except Z fleeing to Arkansas so that speaks for something.

Still got Wagner, Thiero and Burke to make decisions.  Would be wonderful to see all three staying in Lexington.  Any chance.

I would certainly hope at least two of the three would stay, we shall see.

Thiero to Arkansas.  I am so disappointed and envious.

Just saw ESPN had Cal’s recruiting class rated #25, before Thiero’s announcement.  Will be interesting to see if they get a jump at next rating.

Just saw on ESPN that Cal is considering limiting his current and future teams to 8-9 players.  Seems his reasoning that everybody entering the portal makes him question why he should develop players for other coaches.  He wasn’t worried about depth and plans to fill the roster out with walk-ons.  Don’t I recall about 2 Cats out every game because of some injury or another?  What’s really going on her Cal?

Yeah that approach isn't going to fly. With nine guys on a roster, two injuries and you're in a world of hurt.

That's pretty dumb of Cal.

I see 10 as the right number of scholarship players. If you get a couple loyal in state recruits like Perry and Noah who you expect to be on your roster for at least 2 or 3 years, you could go to 12.  Add in 2-3 walk ons for practice purposes. For Cal though, who doesn't really care about having the in state players, 10 is probably the right number.

Latest roster announcements only have Arkansas at 7 players, with ex-Cats Wagner and Oneysco still in the portal/NBA evaluation process.  It would be shocking if Wagner didn’t eventually follow Cal.  I don’t know what to think makes sense for O.  Guessing Arkansas, too, giving Cal his 9?
