*Martin Media had only 24 teams in their poll this week, accidentally listing Elizabethtown twice.

*35 teams were rated in at least one poll, one down from a week ago. Corbin (Media 19th) and North Hardin (Martin Media 21st) were rated this week but not by any poll last week.  Butler, Danville Christian, and Washington County all dropped off the radar.

*In addition to Corbin and North Hardin, Ashland (Media 18th), Pikeville (KYHSSZ 19th), Adair County (Martin Media 23rd), McCracken County (Media T-23rd), and South Laurel (Media T-23rd) were all unicorns, appearing in only one of the five polls.  As with last week, Nations Elite and KSR are the only polls without a unicorn.  All of the repeat ones but South Laurel were unicorns a week ago, each ranked by the same media outlets.  They each really really believe in those teams.

*The consensus teams rated rose to 19 this week, as these teams were rated by all five polls (listed according to average rank and then alphabetically if tied):

Lyon County
Great Crossing
Lexington Catholic
Trinity
Covington Catholic
Newport
Evangel Christian
Harlan County
Bowling Green
St. X
Manual
DeSales
Woodford County
Male
Frederick Douglass
George Rogers Clark
Henry Clay
North Oldham
Bryan Station

So while there is some disagreement in terms of the ranks, there is a growing consensus about who belongs.

*Mr. Martin got with the program in ranking Manual 24th.  Since he had E-Town in both 22nd and 25th, this essentially makes Manual his last ranked team.  But progress, they're on the board! Manual remains the team with the highest variance.  They're ranked as high as 3rd (Nations Elite), and 24th (aforementioned Martin Media).

*Henry Clay is another team with a large amount of variance, as Martin Media rates them 4th, while Kentucky High School Sports Zone rates them 24th.  Bryan Station (Martin Media 10th - Nations Elite 24th), and St. X (Nations Elite 5th - Kentucky High School Sports Zone 17th) are the only others with 10 spots difference between their high and low.

*The only "reverse-unicorn" this week - that is a team that appears in all but one of the polls - is Fairdale, which the Media poll did not rate.  Dominique Yates, the pollster for the sixth region, does rate them third in the 6th region, but not enough to vote them one of the top 15.

*Lyon County and Great Crossing remain the only consensus top 5 teams, as Lexington Catholic once again barely misses due to being #6 in the Nations Elite poll.  Nations Elite has Evangel Christian in the top 5, while none of the others rate them higher than 7th.  They also have St. X at #5, while no one else has them higher than 8th.  Lyon County, Great Crossing, Lexington Catholic, Trinity, and Covington Catholic are the consensus top 10 teams, as they were a week ago.
