2024 Cincinnati Bengals

Contrary to the reports from the professional insiders, my insider has been telling me for a year that Higgins does not want to be in Cincinnati. None of this surprises me.

I look for a draft day trade of Higgins if there is a WR available in the draft that the Bengals can get in a trade - Higgins for the draft pick, hopefully a couple picks. For the right WR pick, I am ok trading Higgins.

I hope your insider is right.

Defensive tackle would very much be in play for me if I was the Bengals. They need an interior pass rush, and where they are picking they could possibly get a good one. Obviously after free agency tho

If T doesn't get a long term contract, it will be because T doesn't want to be in Cincinnati. With the increase in the salary cap, the money is there for a long term deal.

  • Word now is that he's signing a 1 year deal with the Bengals.

First time of done this but it gave me what I wanted.  If anyone is curious about Geno Stone, just Google Geno Stone Madden rating.

Here it is, can you give us context for us non-gamers?

Geno Stone on Madden 24

On Madden NFL 24, Geno Stone has an Overall Rating of 81 with Zone Archetype. His best Defense Attribute as Free Safety is Hit Power, with a rating of 87. Among his General Ratings, the most notable attribute is his Acceleration, with a rating of 90.

The above line graph shows Geno Stone's Madden 24 Rating Weekly Movement while below are his Madden 24 Attributes.

You want Higgins gone?

Probably, between his injuries and his maybe not wanting to be here, I would prefer to move on.  With that said, not at the expense of the team, this is all fluid.

I am definitely on the fence on a long term deal and for sure do not want to pay him more than Pittman. I am good keeping him this year on the tag. Give it one more try at a SB with him and Chase together. Then next year tag and trade if there is value in the risk.

I am fine with that too.

Same, lol!

Is Zach Moss an upgrade?  I thought Mixon had a great year.  Any chance Mixon signs for less money?

Moss played very well for the Colts while Taylor was out. Rushed for 165 yards against the Titans. Averaged 4.3 ypc vs. 4.0 for Mixon. But he was running behind the Colts' offensive line. Budget move. Comparable player for half the cost. Much less wear on Moss.

Also, Chase Brown has to be the starter now. Moss will get a lot of carries but look for Brown to be the lead back.

Mixon had a good year and a good career with Cincinnati.   I think what the Bengals crave most from that spot is consistency and as good a Joe was, the running game was never consistent.  Not all his fault because they did have a lot of line issues but consistency is key and the only certainty is change.

Moss is considered to be a better blocker than Mixon and has a better burst.  He had several explosive runs last year.  I guess we will see if the Bengals run blocking is as bad as we thought, or if Mixon just had terrible vision.

If Higgins wants number one WR money, Bengals can’t afford him, in my opinion.  I don’t think any organization can afford to pay two number one WRs.  At some point, we should expect Burrow to make an average WR in the second spot, across from Chase {who I expect the Bengals to resign when the time comes), better.  One other thing, personally I have no worries about Higgins playing next year or his effort.  It’s too much money to leave on the table and I believe the Bengals retain the rights if he sits.  I also think we as fans are over valuing him if we expect more than a 2nd round pick, along with a throw in late pick or special teamer.
