My friend said the Highlands fans in the stands where terrible cussing and everything else.

About what? It was a heckuva a game. They came up a little short. Kids never WANT to fumble or throw an interception and coaches do what they think is best to win.

What a great game with a roller coaster of emotions for both teams! Two great teams on the field tonight, and literally came down to the very end. Didn’t matter the cold weather, both teams left it on

When Cooper players entered the field, there was a whole group of 60+ year old Highlands fans booing the Cooper players. Smh.

There was a severe lack of discipline early in the season. Smack talk, dumb penalties etc...I think it got better as the season went on, but it should have never been allowed to get to the level it did.

I thought Highlands and Cooper players showed great sportsmanship last night!! Saw both sides helping each other up after plays, especially Highlands lineman.  Had a bad interaction with a HH fan pregame in the stands but after game, several HH fans wished Cooper good luck!  I’m sure there was a little smack talk on the field but it’s football.   Both teams were classy!

Cooper on offense only returned 4 guys who started offense last year. With also having a whole new offensive line as Jack Lonaker transitioned from starting fullback to line to help the team. On defense they only returned 5 defensive starters from last year. The big thing obviously though is the guys they did return were some top players. Which Cooper returns most of the team next year. As only 3 seniors start on offense and defense, then a senior at kicker too. So Cooper actually may be a year ahead of schedule, with what they have coming back. With that said nothing is guaranteed for next year, and the State Championship now is right there in front of them to take. They have to now go out and play one more great game and win it all against a great Bowling Green team.

Go Jags!

2 other returning seniors, Center Lucas Hughes and RT Mason Baesel have also played great for the Jags!! Hughes moved to center early in season to help out after only playing LB last year.  LG Soph Christian Brown and the LT Soph Noah Rykel are playing well and will anchor the line for a few more years!  Bright future for Cooper!!

Agreed. I thought sportsmanship on both sides last night was great. Was just  hard fought game with both teams leaving it all on the field.

The easiest games to watch are when you have two teams that are focused on winning not trying to show up the opponent. Both teams focused on winning led to minimal flags and minimal to zero trash talking. Kudos to both teams again, on just an unreal game.

What is HH?

Can someone elaborate on the hurdling call?  My view was blocked and was curious what actually happened.  Also anyone have more info on the first penalty call of the game.

Highlands High

I guess Highlands needs more full time players and less part time players?  The Bird faithful should rally behind the hoops program, one that has actually done something in the last decade.  Instead of forcing middle school hoopers to choose one or the other other and pitting one program against the other, let the kids choose and play it out.  Whether you want to believe it or not it’s happening that way.  They are offering the moon to these kids exiting middle school into high school. Forcing them to choose.  People want to talk about Litmer.  Great kid from all I gather.  Promised the moon.  Guess who they are making all the promises to now?  Ain’t Litmer. Wouldn’t be stunned to see him in a different uni next year.  The next one coming is being promised the moon.  Enough of that, based on camera view on the broadcast it appeared Cooper brought more fans to the game tonight.  Wild finish to close the game.  Congrats to Cooper on the win!

What is all this supposed to mean?  I interpret as somebody got their feelings hurt and has been waiting for the opportunity to pile on.  Highlands lost a great game to a great team.  HHS has a bright future and the coaching staff had a great year along with the players

Cooper has more future Division 1 football players than anyone in Northern Kentucky. Tough team for anyone to beat. Good luck to the Jags in Lexington.

I watched the game and didn't see anyone on the field look that much better than anyone else on the field.

Congrats to Cooper!

The smallest guy on the field made some of biggest plays . That would be number 3 for Highlands, probably ran over some of D1's you are talking about on the way to the end zone.

Yeah, he probably didn’t run over any of the D1 guys on his way to the end zone. He did have a good game though and is a very good high school player that runs very hard.

This is now the second time you have made some kind of cracks at Cooper’s players that do have D1 offers. Which is very bizarre to me, considering they truly do have those offers. So not sure why you seem to go out of your way to make comments like this. First in the prediction thread and now this.

One of the D1 guys Alexander scored two touchdowns with multiple Highlands players bouncing off of him as he scored the second touchdown, and multiple stops on defense. The other D1 guy Johnson, Highlands bracketed all game with someone underneath him and over top of him  and sometimes 3 guys on him to try to prevent him from having 266 yards receiving like he did in the first game when they tried to single cover him. Then the other D1 guy O’Hara threw two touchdowns, scrambled away from multiple pressures from the D line while Highlands played coverage with 7 or 8 guys dropping to try to take away from the D1 receivers. So obviously Highlands thought very highly of those guys, since their game plan was all about them. Especially after being torched by all three in the first game. Which credit to Highland’s defense because they played a great game and made good adjustments in this one just like Cooper’s defense did in regards to slowing down the Highlands run game in this one.

Sorry. Short for Highland Heights but I meant to put Highlands. Sorry for confusion.
