Covington Catholic 31 Johnson Central 0

Recommended Posts

Braylon Miller with three receiving touchdowns tonight for Cov Cath. He could have had another 2 or 3 more if Pitzer had been able to back off on the air he put beneath his thrown balls juuuuust a little bit.

The Colonels had 320 total offensive yards tonight (133 rushing/187 passing), and the Golden Eagles had 156 total offensive yards tonight (156 rushing/0 passing).

Congrats to Covington Catholic I do not remember the last time a team shutout JC. Frustrating loss for JC with lots of punts and mistakes.

2015 to Belfry's title team. Eight years is quite a run by the house that Matney built.

Congratulations Golden Eagles on yet another fine season. It's been a great series with the men of JC - terrific competitors. Let's go at it again soon.

That was definitely the play in the update thread that I called a highlight reel moment for Owen Leen. He was hit in the backfield behind his right guard, spun free of the tackler and then kicked it out to the far right side of the field and jumped over Ryan Rice and was brought down by Caleb Barnes two or three yards beyond where Rice would have tackled him. Great play by Leen. Owen had 61 yards on 16 carries...and they may have been the hardest 61 yards he's fought for in his career.

Credit to Johnson Central's D-line, they weren't giving away rushing yards whatsoever tonight. Most of the 133 yards the Colonels had on the ground last night were gained through the will of their runners after they had been hit by Golden Eagle defenders. It was NOT an easy night on the ground last night.
