1. Highlands -- OPEN

2. Bowling Green vs. 6A #5 Saint Xavier

3. South Warren vs. 4A #9 Logan County

4. Scott County at 3A #2 Lexington Catholic

5. Woodford County vs. 6A #7 Ballard

6. Cooper -- OPEN

7. Southwestern vs. 6A Henry Clay

8. Madisonville-North Hopkins at 2A #9 Murray

9. Dixie Heights vs. 6A #10 Ryle

10. Owensboro vs. 6A Henderson County

I’m not sure Madisonville should be ranked 8th if Graves isn’t even ranked period. In two games against common district opponents, Marshall Co. and Muhlenberg, Graves County allowed 21 combined points while Madisonville gave up 67 in those two games. Not to mention Graves County beat Madisonville. Either way I know these rankings don’t matter and any district one team is gonna have a tough time making it past the second round being paired up with district 2.

Madisonville got the big win vs O - Graves didn't.

If Bowling Green only loses by 6 or less will they jump Highlands for the top spot because they at least played a game?

I’d say nothing less than a Purples victory over the X men would land them #1.

Highlands has played 10 games already. Not sure I understand why they would be penalized for scheduling their open week this week.

It’s clear that unless Highlands loses, this poll will not put BG over Highlands no matter what.

When Bowling Green had their open week, Highlands soundly defeated (at the time) BGP 5A #10 Dixie Heights. Propelling them to number one in the polls.

Last week, Bowling Green soundly defeated (at the time) BGP #9 Greenwood and were not rewarded the same kind of nod.

This week they take on one of the big three, I’d say if they didn’t have the Purples moving up after last week that they may stay at number two even with a win over X.

Got a quick question? What’s a better record? 4-1 or 3-2?
why would the #2 play the other number #2 team in there sister district in the first round and not the #3.
why would Cooper have to play Woodford instead of Collins? Has to be a mistake?

Dixie lost to Cooper and is still in the top 10 with a losing record? Makes no sense.

My post was more on the smart elleck(?) side.

What they have on the site is incorrect. They accidentally put Cooper and Dixie in the wrong spots. Cooper will be hosting Collins, and Dixie will be traveling to Wofford County.

I feel like the 5A state champ this year will come out of the lower bracket. Bowling Green will have an easier path (on paper) to get to the final but the lower bracket has some strong teams. Whomever wins the lower bracket will have definitely earned it.

So does that devalue Graves big win over Madisonville on the road where the defense really only gave up 7 points?
