Also, consider Creek could win out the rest of their schedule,  OR lose 1-2 games to high RPI ranked teams, so they will help.

I do not remember RPIs being above 1.0 in previous years. Has the formula been tweaked?

It's because of class weighting that is added.

• 1A = 1.323
• 2A = 1.521
• 3A = 1.749
• 4A = 2.011
• 5A = 2.313
• 6A = 2.660

Simply nonsensical. To have Eastern, Fern Creek, Ryle and North Hardin where they are slotted compared to Frederick Douglass, Trinity and St. X. Come on now.

It’ll balance out by the time the regular season ends. And a lot of those teams won’t still be playing by the time Rpi comes into account.

But dang the No. 1 team in the class lost to the No. 12 team by a score of 36-3

That's what just baffles my mind. I get Trinity is 3-3 and where it's at I am fine with but the team they did beat 36-3 is No. 1. Explain that one?

Sure thing. Trinity's RPI will drop further in relation to most ahead of them now with playing Out of State St. Xavier (OH). They'll take another hit in all three W% portions of the formula.

A gentle reminder to the curious - the keys are Winning Percentages and Game Value (Class Multiplier). W/L margin is not a factor.
