  • The unmitigated gall of someone not considering that the Reds would be contending about now.  Terrible foresight.

  • Well, it was fun while it lasted.

Just what I was thinking

swing the bat Elly!!!!!!!!

Well that might be the end of it for this season. I think it will be hard to come back with any kind of winning streak when you lose a game 13-12 that you lead 9-0 at one point in the game. The way its going now forget the wild card we will be lucky to finish at .500.

Backbreaker.

UP 9 to 1 and lost????

Holy Cow, this team is hard on me.

This article from The Comeback after last night's Reds and Pirates game pretty much says it all. See the link below.

MLB playoff contender loses following ‘unforgettable meltdown’ (msn.com)

Certainly a terrible loss, but if you would have told me in March that this team would even be anywhere near playoff contention at the end of September I would have been ecstatic.

I really feel sorry for Elly, he just has NO idea at the plate, looks completely lost, 2 men on in a must win game and you’re down on 3 pitches without getting a swing, the last 2 fastballs DOWN THE MIDDLE BELT HIGH!!!???   Under .180 since the all star break, take a few weeks off then LOTS to work on!!!!!  Whew!!!

You must have fired him up. He immediately drove one out 400+ to center, then drove in a run with rbi single next at bat. Later he scored from second on a single right to the left fielder.

Thanks 16th, for waking him up!!!

A blind squirrel always seems to find a nut once in awhile.

Elly with an absolute blast for his second homerun of the evening.  119.2 mph off the bat.

Make it two nuts and an acorn tonight!!!

Both Homeruns were hit off of change-ups in the 70s. Nice to see him barrel up some off speed stuff.
