Sure it would be nice to see them make the playoffs, but you just never know when the hiccups will happen with this pitching staff.  In my opinion, wild card games are "play-in games" to get to the playoffs and the last 2 wild card appearances the Reds haven't fared well.

  • The unmitigated gall of someone not considering that the Reds would be contending about now.  Terrible foresight.

Not looking good now they are down 11-0 in the 3rd inning and the Cubs are currently leading the Brewers.

Reds lose 15-6.   Officially eliminated from the post season.   Still have 1 game left in the season.    This team has exceeded preseason expectation and have a good, young core to build on.

WHEW, U-G-L-Y way to end 2023 (yeah, I know one more to go).

Yeah, but the pitching......the relief pitching......ugh!

I guess the answer is No.

The fat lady has sung.

I'm pretty sure none of thought they'd go into game 161, with a "chance" to make the playoffs. This team had me more excited about the Reds than I've been in several years. Looking forward to next season already. Go Reds!

Good season. Sure hope they do something in the offseason to strengthen the starting pitching and bullpen.

If they don't, next year year will be a repeat of this year.

Repeat of this year isn't awful, but with the Votto salary back and the extra revenue they pull in throughout 2023, which was unexpected, I'd really hope they make a move to add some pieces, like Eduardo Rodriguez from Detroit or something like that. I don't follow enough to know good pieces and how their contracts would fit, so that's just a random name.

No, a repeat of this year would not be a good thing.  This year looked good only because they were coming off of a 100 games lost season.  They were on 2 games above 500, big improvement, but that record is not going to get you in the playoffs.  They have about spent their farm system, they will have to make some moves or it will be the same old Reds, wait until next year.

Given what I've experienced in my 37 years of life in Greater Cincinnati having been too young to appreciate 1990, just being in contention for a playoff spot on the final weekend, is a good thing. If that's the floor next year, I'm pleased.

Yep, it's only a game, we'll have to take what is served up.

Green, Ashcraft, Abbott, Phillips, Lodolo is a pretty good rotation IF IF IF IF they can stay healthy, throw Williamson in some spots, BUT, to be a true contender the bullpen HAS to upgraded

Surely they won’t bring Votto back because of several reasons
