I assume this is all about money. Huggy deserves his cash for going down in flames.

In reading about it, seems as if some correspondence originated from his wife’s email, so they’re throwing her under the bus by saying it wasn’t an official resignation since it didn’t come from him. There is Huggins’ attorney the university has worked with for weeks, but Huggins has gotten another attorney leading this charge. Like most stuff with Huggins, it’s messy.

Yes.

This is a mess, brought on by Hugg's own fault.  I do not think he gets back to being HC at WVU.  It's a bad look all the way around and a PR nightmare if they're even considering putting him back in place.

Not a chance. Again, this is about money. The only consideration I could think of would be from an HR perspective in that an employer cannot discriminate because of alcoholism as it may be considered a disability. They do reference he checked into a rehab facility following his latest DUI arrest.

I read the letter from the attorney yesterday and I found this pretty interesting. I guess it specifically states in Huggins' contract that if he were to resign, there are specific procedures that have to be followed for that to happen. Those specific procedures didn't happen.

Definitely a money grab by Huggins, cause there's now way they can bring him back as the WVU Coach at this point in all of this.

He had already agreed to a $1M salary reduction for his homophobic slur from a few weeks prior. Maybe he wants that back?

And you are correct on the attorney part. But this is also Huggins second attorney he was working through. His everyday legal counsel had been working with the University and was presumably acting in good faith - regardless of the employment contract - on his behalf because that is how these things work.

Hang in there Huggie, if you want to coach again, you will have no problem finding a good D1 opportunity.

I actually think Huggins is a solid coach and players seem to like him. But I can’t think there will be a crowd of teams knocking on the door of a 70 year old guy carrying two DUIs and a homophonic record. While good at his trade, this ain’t Pitino we’re talking about. If he gets a another chance I can’t think it’ll be a big job. I hope he gets the help he needs.

How about total wins compared to others in the business, I just think he has been good for the game with his less talented teams and coming up with upsets and underdog wins.
