Just to add a little speculation to this thoroughly factual thread, who’s the starting RB next season? I like Fournette at the right number, apparently a good RB draft class, what’s the preference?

His numbers were very similar to Vonn Bell last year. Plus he is younger and more athletic, and cheaper. This is a very similar type of deal when had the under the radar signing of Bell three years ago.

I have no idea but that was my first thought, he wants to be a starter and he knows that is not going to happen in Cincy.  

I would think being a backup RB in Cincy in their window of opportunity would be a great career choice.  I wonder what else was at play here.

A lot of times the "same money" can end up being very different based on guarantees and bonuses. Not sure if that's in play here, but something that could have affected the decision making.

I just read a short article on CincyJungle.com about Perine and the speculation there was the same as in this thread but that is not why I am making this post, the last sentence of the article caught my attention, here it is:

All signs point to Joe Mixon being back in Cincinnati as the lead running back, so maybe Perine wants a better chance at a starting role.

If Javonte Williams is healthy, Perine isn't going to be the starter in Denver either.
