Every student in KY brings them a base SEEK amount of $4,200.  That gives them an incentive to accept every student because they get the money from the state on top of what they charge for tuition.  Here is FTISD Criteria.  I'm sure #5 would include athletic talent.

Getting accepted as out of district has mostly to do with class size.  If there is room and meet requirements, then they can be accepted.  There are many cases where siblings attend FTIS and others do not because of enrollment in that class.

You cannot just enroll and write a check, unless you can ball LOL.

My advice to players is do what you want to do. Do not let any coach tell you that you have to choose one sport over another. Trust me - if you are good enough to play, you will play. Above all else,

  • Right but you have to get back to being pretty good before you can jump into the best arena.

  • Just saw on Twitter Benke with another offer, nice job big guy!

That’s not exactly how that works. The districts have to have an agreement to release those funds. Basically if the districts don’t have an agreement then neither school gets the funds. That’s they way it used to be at least.

That changed last summer.

I just think Joat knows the expectations of the Ft. Thomas natives. Not worried about those just passing thru. That gets lost on some.

But the program I’m worried about currently is the band. Why are the numbers so low now? And the uniforms don’t match the school colors. Unacceptable. Need more pep songs at the games too.

I’ve been saying it forever. The Highlands Band needs a kid to play bagpipes. It would be awesome.

Today at 3 Highlands puts the pads on for Spring practice. Today and Thursday will be Light Contact Instructional where Friday Period 1 will be Oklahoma Drill.

Gates are always open if you want to catch a sneak peek of what 2023 will look like in Ft Thomas.

Will Jared Lorenzen's son be battling for playing time at qb this year?

I’m not sure sure of the Highlands QB situation, but after watching him play 8th grade last year (I know varsity is a huge jump), he will absolutely see time on Friday nights somewhere.

He did not play QB at 8th grade level except for a handful of snaps.  From all accounts he really matured over the last year and good things should be coming his way with hard work.

So let's hear more about the scrimmage.

Right. I didn’t get to see him play QB (he was oversized by league rules) but he played a great LB!

No, in 8th grade he didn't even play Qb. He played qb in 7th grade but I don't see him playing qb in high school.

I think he deserves a shot at qb. He has played qb for the Red Devils and was slinging it.

Jared could have been a solid D1 Linebacker.

Is there a potential issue at Highlands?!? I’ve heard of at least one incoming freshman opting  out to go to Cov Cath and a slew of potential others looking elsewhere.  Anyone in the know care to comment?  If there’s smoke and all….
