Would like to see Highlands play Boyle County on a regular basis.

They wouldn’t reschedule Boyle the last cycle.

My advice to players is do what you want to do. Do not let any coach tell you that you have to choose one sport over another. Trust me - if you are good enough to play, you will play. Above all else,

  • Right but you have to get back to being pretty good before you can jump into the best arena.

  • Just saw on Twitter Benke with another offer, nice job big guy!

I don't blame them but now it is time to step the schedule up.

For sure, and they wouldn't be wrong.  But if we are going to use that logic Highlands would have to be reaching out to the best teams in 6A and across the river first.  Otherwise Highlands would be ducking teams too.

I'd like to see a show of hands of the other programs that are willing to do this. Any takers? I'll wait. ☺️

It is in the context of any possible complaining if Beechwood doesn't want to play the Bluebirds.

And with all of that said, if it comes down to no good options for Highlands and Beechwood and they have the same week open then lace them up and play.

Highlands gains no real RPI leverage by playing any Teams down in Class. Playing Lex Cath is something that Highlands realizes could eventually hurt their RPI. Even CCH now that they are 4A. Highlands would be better served calling anyone 5A or 6A starting next year to ensure they have peak numbers when RPI seedings come out late in the year for Playoffs. Playing a team like Beechwood or a team from across the River is useless.

Only benefits Beechwood rather than Highlands. When it's all said and done that's what schedules are going to start to look like. It won't be about Dodging anyone. It will be so Schools are fighting for the Higher RPI. Sure Beechwood wants to play CCH and Highlands. They get the Higher RPI's to reap the benefit from. CCH beats Beechwood and they get Newport and Ludlow's RPI.

I don't know that Beechwood would want to play Highlands strictly because of RPI.  If it wasn't for that, it would probably be sure, let's play.

Looking for an easy "W"?

Didn’t they just win state? Or did I fire out the wrong bullet?

There's more to it than just the class the other team is in. The teams those teams play and their record against those teams all matter. It's not simple math.

My bad RB.  Took it wrong.  You have the correct Bullitt.

If it is week 5, I would love to see them get Freddie D on the schedule. I am not sure where I saw it but I think they have week 5 open.

Ah come on @theguru ya gotta play the best to be the best. I'd like to see HHS get back to that mentality! At the very least it prepares you for the playoffs.
