My advice to players is do what you want to do. Do not let any coach tell you that you have to choose one sport over another. Trust me - if you are good enough to play, you will play. Above all else,

  • Right but you have to get back to being pretty good before you can jump into the best arena.

  • Just saw on Twitter Benke with another offer, nice job big guy!

State wise or in 5A?

Of course 5A, overall rankings are completely meaningless.

I’d say between  2-8

#1 BG, and the rest of Scott, Owensboro, Woodford, Highlands, Cooper, SW or Pulaski, in no particular order.

So you're saying there is some kind of native purity test. How noble.

Trust me, I'm not lost. Some from my alma mater have an oversized sense of entitlement too.

The born and bred have a deeper understanding of how it needs to run.

Shocking to see the enrollment is down. What is driving that? It would be interesting to see what the percentage of kids that are enrolled don't participate in athletics as well. I assume that's pretty low.

About 8-10k per year in tuition and public education.

No. I thought you were talking CCH. Many parochial schools attendance is down.

Tuition is an interesting topic. Do Fort Thomas schools take out of district students? If so what is the tuition?

Fort Thomas Schools do take tuition students. $3,500 for in-state and shy of $7,000 for out of state. There is an admittance process but I have no idea how/what the process is for a student to get accepted vs how a student gets denied.

10-0 ceiling

8-2 floor

Lex Cath, Cov Cath, and Raceland/Cooper are really the only teams that pose a true threat. I think Cooper could beat Highlands, emphasis on the could, but realistically Highlands should sweep their district. The Lex Cath game to open the season will be a barn burner and then you have to turn around and beat Cov Cath the next week. sheesh. If the birds can start the season off with two wins against those two teams I'd have them as a heavy favorite to win state until something else happens.

Does the  Lexington Catholic game lose a little luster now that Bathiany took the Moeller job? Or was this a reunion for Coach Sphire? It was an intriguing matchup just for the history of the coaches alone. It’ll be real interesting to see who the HC is for LexCath this fall. Good luck to both teams.

Every student in KY brings them a base SEEK amount of $4,200.  That gives them an incentive to accept every student because they get the money from the state on top of what they charge for tuition.  Here is FTISD Criteria.  I'm sure #5 would include athletic talent.
