The teaching position at Conner has nothing to do with it. At large 4A schools, they can non-renew a young teacher in the district or they can basically afford to create a class, especially if they are on block scheduling. I would have to agree with JDG, I am sure it is inepitude. They have been aware of the need for a coach since the season ended. And anybody with head coaching aspirations have already made up their mind that their future comes before the future of their present school (if not, they would not leave).

I beg to differ with some of your comments but it is, after all, strictly opinion. Since I know most of the people involved and most of the inner workings as they are going on, I'll stick to what I know.

I heard Weinrick from Highlands applied....He has been their D-Coordinator for a while.....I would think he would be as qualified as any.:ylsuper:

Wow. That would be a huge loss for the Birds.

My guesses for the applicants are.......

1. Weinrich from highlands

2. roy lucas from lloyd?

3. barry jones - have heard that name on this board.

4. ?

5. ?

I don't think Roy would leave Lloyd for Conner, I could be wrong but from what I've read he doesn't want to be a HC at this time.

I also know a lot of the people involved. There is only 2(really probably only 1) involved by the way, at least until the commitee meets. But the commitee has not been informed when that will be.They are to have interviews on the 11th but the commitee has not been giving any info on the candidates, no resumes to look over, nothing to help them be prepared for the interviews.

I would describe it as disorganized and that is putting it kindly!

A correction, the commitee has received or will be receiving packets in the next day or so.

In cases like this, committees usualy screw things up more. It is hard enough to get people to agree on what to eat, let alone choosing the best qualified candidate. Each member has their own idea of what to look for; experience, reputation, community involvement, relationship with kids, content area of teaching, how dynamic the coach is...etc. The principal needs to just step up and choose his fate.

Not true that Weinrich applied from what I was told by a very close source. I know who you heard that from and unfortunately he has more bad scoop than a 30 day litter box.

LN, you are correct as always. Coach Weinrich did NOT apply for the position. Therefore obviously, not one of the 5 to be interviewed.

Don't be surprised if Weinrich is a S. Oldham Dragon in the near future.

Dayton's head coach applied for the job!

Why would Weinrich leave Highlands and go to a different school? He has an excellent position there. Mueller is getting pretty old and it won't be long before he retires. Who do you think would be the man to replace him when that time comes? Weinrich would love to be the head coach at Highlands, since that is alma. Unless there has been something to change his thoughts completely, he's not going anywhere.
