Why would Weinrich leave Highlands and go to a different school? He has an excellent position there. Mueller is getting pretty old and it won't be long before he retires. Who do you think would be the man to replace him when that time comes? Weinrich would love to be the head coach at Highlands, since that is alma. Unless there has been something to change his thoughts completely, he's not going anywhere.

IMO, if he ever wants the chance to be the head coach at HHS, he MUST get out and get head coaching experience. There are several HHS alums that have years of head coaching experience that would love to step in when Coach Mueller retires. Not to mention great coaches that don't have ties to HHS. I don't see how you can turn the reigns of a program like HHS over to a coach w/ no head coaching experience.

Big difference between being an assistant and the head coach.

Agree w/the big difference in an asst/head coach but disagree about turning a program over to an asst w/great experience. Look at the Beechwood job, Coach Rash is more than capable.

From what I know, Weinrich is very happy at Highlands in his current role as the Asst Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator. I see him waiting his turn. Highlands has promoted assts to the head coaching job. Murphy, Herman and Eicher all were assts. that became head coaches without head coaching experience any where else. Was Hauck a head coach in Ohio before he became the head coach at Highlands, or was that after he was the head coach at Highlands? In any event, I know of 3 head coaches at Highlands whom did not have head coaching experience else where before they got the job at Highlands so there is precedence for that happening. My guess is that Brian will wait to see if he gets the job after Dale leaves (and he does not plan on retiring any time soon) and I think he'd be the front runner. If Brian did not get the head coaching job at that time, I do think he'd leave, but not until then. From what I've been told, all the Highlands coaches will be back next year and Eichmann is also returning after a one year sabatical. Until someone hears something credible from one of the coaches directly, reports on here about people leaving are pure speculation and I would not put any stock in that speculation.

Would Dale consider bringing back Schrader??

Was it announced? Or are they deciding over the long weekend?
