It's not something I want to think about but with the portal it's not a sure thing that they would struggle.

I think that might be the new model.  Sign two or three high level recruits and hit the portal to fill in any other needs.  I think I'm more confident in a proven DI player than the fourth or fifth guy in a recruiting class.

Posted this in another thread and thought it should be here as well. Final Four appearances over the past ten years:

UCLA - Last year's appearance broke a 13 year Final Four draught. One FF in the last 10 years.

UNC - Most recent FF was 2017. Two FF in the last 10 years.

Kansas - Most recent FF was 2018. Two FF in the last 10 years.

Duke - Most recent FF was 2015. That is their only FF in the last 10 years.

Kentucky - Most recent FF was also 2015. Four FF in the last 10 years. 

Other schools with more than one FF in the last 10 years: Villanova 2, Gonzaga 2, Louisville 2, U Conn 2, Wisconsin 2, Michigan 2, Michigan St. 2, Syracuse 2. 

Yes, it has been a few years but UK has 4 Final Fours and no one else has more than 2. Perspective for how difficult it is to get to the Final Four.

Came across the linked article and this seemed like the appropriate thread. Article details that since 2010 UK is the most successful NCAA basketball program in March. Most March wins (31, tied with Kansas), most Final Fours and most conference tournament titles (6, tied with Kansas; not including Gonzaga due to weak conference). In addition, there is a formula that shows UK has outperformed their expected win total more than any other program. Here is the article with more details:

Totally.  Ive hit the point in my UK fandom where UK fans annoying me more than fans of other colleges.

There has to be a camp somewhere that age 55 plus UK fans are taught to type in all caps with incredibly stupid hot takes.

The weekly meetings of these camps take place at local McDonald’s at 5 am across the eastern part of the state.
