The fanbase is very supportive and also very brutal. Many seasoned coaches would not want to deal with that and would recruit a different type of player than has been the case lately. The job is not as enticing as many think it is because of the almost unreal expectations. Brad Stevens is in a great position with the Celtics. Why walk away from that??

 

 

See I don’t think another coach would recruit a different type of player. All these coaches America would recruit and try to get the exact type of guys UK has had under Cal. Just many of these coaches can’t get those type of guys at their current schools. No coach would come here and not try to get these exact type of players if they were able to get them since they are now at UK.

UK fans would hate his style of play, and unless he has a lot of success right away. People would go crazy watching how his teams play.

Agreed! Pearl, Donovan, and Steven’s would  be my top 3 guys I would be calling and trying to get before anyone else.

They both won as many NCAA titles as Cal has.

True! Which only one coach in UK history has won more than one title while coaching at UK. So Cal is tied for 2nd in UK history in titles won. Tied for second in NCAA final appearances, and in second alone for final four appearances. Cal doesn’t seem to have done as bad of a job at UK as some seem to say. 
 

With that said he now needs to right the ship fast, or else let someone else take over the ship!

Actually the ship isn't sinking, just a lot more parity.  Will most likely stay that way with the different recruiting tools.

Cal’s early success came from the fact that he was the first to embrace and utilize the one and done. Once others caught on, he lost that advantage and came back to earth. 

I know that it's still not set in stone and a lot of it has to do with who stays and who goes. But does anyone realize how bad Kentucky's recruiting class is currently?  Compared to any other year I mean.

It was one of the top classes until Sharpe reclassified and enrolled early.  He was originally the #1 player in the class.
