Dixie made this official today.  Patrick Burke is the new head coach.

Talking to some in the know, Dixie wanted to look outside and bring in some new blood to the program.  Hopefully he can bring the kids out and have some success.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, January 31, 2022

DIXIE HEIGHTS HIRES PATRICK BURKE AS HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

On behalf of the Dixie Heights Athletic Department, we are excited to announce the hiring of Mr. Patrick Burke as the new head varsity football coach. A Northern Kentucky native, Coach Patrick Burke has spent the past 6 years serving as the head coach at New Richmond High School, in Ohio. In addition to his head coaching responsibilities, Coach Burke has been the defensive coordinator since 2015. Under his leadership, New Richmond had a 30-19 record, appeared in the Division 3 playoffs twice, won 2 SBAAC league championships and 1 Division 3 district runner-up. Coach Burke was selected as the 2017 SBAAC Coach of the Year and the 2020 Ohio Southwest District Coach of the year.

Coach Patrick Burke has a proven track record of success both on and off the field as a coach and educator. He is well respected in the Southwest Ohio coaching community among his peers. We are confident that he will make a positive impact on the lives of our student-athletes based on his ability to build relationships with his current players and students.

Our administration and athletic department couldn't be more excited to have Patrick Burke and his family join the Dixie Heights community. His dedication, work ethic, knowledge, and leadership qualities will be a tremendous asset to the continued success of our football program.

I’ve always thought Dixie was one of the more underperforming schools in NKY. I get that open enrollment in Kenton Co. and Beechwood and CCH hurt them but there is still a lot of talent walking the halls of Dixie. For the sake of NKY football, I hope Coach Burke can bring Dixie to their potential!

Hearing a lot of good things already from the Dixie parents.  Heard parent meeting went great as the new coach laid out his intentions to help these kids reach there goals after high school.  That’s very important for parents and kids to hear.  Definitely need a plan on how to achieve goals.  It starts after freshman year.  NKY football needs this type of football and competition.
