Good call on Paris. After a blowout in the opener, their other four losses were by an average of ten points. I don't know if they'll win, but I think they'll give Bishop Brossart trouble in round one.

East Carter went 7-2 on the season, fewest regular season losses since finishing 8-2 in 1994. Should be a heavy favorite to win their first playoff game since 2005.

Hopkins County Central finished the regular season 6-4, their first winning season since going 7-3 in 2008.

How about Atherton, 5-4 in the regular season, their first winning record since going 6-5 in 1976! They'll host their first ever home playoff game this Friday night against North Bullitt!

Six regular season wins for Louisville Southern, their most since the 2003 season. Southern has shown consistent improvement over the last several seasons and scored two very nice victories over Kentucky Country Day and Fern Creek this year.

That's impressive stat and season for them!

And finally, a big hand for the Caverna Colonels. Caverna doesn't compete in district play but finished 5-5, their first .500 record since 2008 and only their fourth since 1987. I've heard they have a really nice middle school team about to come up to the high school as well. Lots to be excited about!

The Russellville rebound season has been a good story. 

What about Fort Knox one of two teams who didn't play last year and they always have high turnover of players anyways came out and won 4 games for only 3rd time in last 15 years. 

Congratulations to every team that got in a full season of games without having to forfeit a game for COVID reasons.   This season had to be another one where the pandemic added unique challenges to every program.

The Silver Fox down in Middlesboro has gone 25 and 6 since he arrived.  Two or three of those were covid wins but not sure how else to count them.  The 'Boro won 1 game the season before he arrived.  They've not had the hardest schedule this season but he's still winning just about every time they hit the field.  The man can coach.  Over 300 wins and counting !!  Way to go Middlesboro and Larry French !!

Agree 100%.  Coach Clark is a Great Person who knows how to coach the game of football.  Brady is a true talent who a lot of people are overlooking.  His numbers are outstanding.  Both are WINNERS.  The regular season was great and the same is expected through the playoffs.  There are some talented athletes on BHS team and can put some points up on the scoreboard.  Looking forward to see how the next month unfolds.

Couple Teams:

Russellville (I second my man @Voice of Reason to put the Panthers here)

Woodford County (beat Glasgow first game and hasn't looked back since)

LCA (I knew they'd be good, but not this good)

Bardstown (I agree with @Hearsay; love when smaller town teams do well)

Central (If you know where this school is and what kind of teams they schedule regularly, you can't help but be impressed by them)

Male (yes, easy answer and I wanted them to go down last Friday, but they are really, really good this year)

 

Couple Players:

Cole Lanter WR  - Boyle County - probably the best player pound per pound I've seen this year

Jack Sivori QB - St X - right there with Lanter and the spark plug in the engine for St X.

Gavin Wimsatt QB - Owensboro - even though I wish he would have stayed, kid was a special talent.

 

Lexington Catholic. Only lost two games on the year.. LCA and Boyle who are #1 in their respective classes.
