Article doesn't say but knowing KHSAA transfer rules, they may not have enough players to field a team this year. That's my guess because what other reason could it be?

Take your ball and go home mentality.  I am not saying that is the case, I am saying that is an other reason. 

I've got it in pretty good info that they hired either a new principal or superintendent of schools for Evangel. When the new principal/supt asked why they weren't playing KHSAA football, the answer was "we have too many players that are ineligible to play KHSAA football".

When she was given that answer, her response was "Well I guess we aren't playing football then."

End of story.

Got to be some very angry parents if their kid doesn't get to play this year.

Agree. Caverna, Fulton City, Jackson County, and Jenkins are all playing non-district schedules this season. Its been a common thing in Kentucky for years. Evangel should have known you can’t jump in mid-alignment cycle unless you are a new school (not new program). Now they’ve brought all these kids in but they’re canceling because they didn’t know? Get out of here with that nonsense. Evangel athletics is a shady operation ran by shady individuals with track records of shenanigans. This isn’t a surprise; the bigger surprise will be if the school ever fields a football team.

It is my understanding that a student-athlete is always eligible at some school.... usually the one they just left.

Isn't true that if your school does not offer a football program, you can go play at a neighboring school and play?

Not sure. Have always heard talk like that but have never experienced at Mercer or Mason.

You would have to transfer (can’t attend one school and play at another). But I think that’s only if the school drops the program. The only recent example I can remember was when Trimble County dropped their program about four players transferred to next door Carroll County. 

Just popped up on my google account, anyone heard anything about this.
