I don’t know but we grew up in a generation that there had to be a visual of a tornado to cancel games 30 years ago and we were playing on grass (or more times mud) in football or soccer. Now most of these games are turf, with Boone and Cooper being very new turf.  Come on…..

We played in a downpour so heavy once that one of our players said something like however bad you could imagine it was, it was worse.

It definitely was a head scratching decision by Boone to cancel the game, especially as you said since Boone has turf now.

Plus with it raining on Monday and Tuesday. Most teams had already practiced in the rain the previous two days. So a game might as well be played after already practicing in the rain.

Hmm... with it being at Cooper I wonder if Cooper or Villa cancelled this. If it was Cooper cancelling while they are complaining about Boone Co. cancelling a freshmen football game then that is confusing too.

The Highlands at Beechwood game tonight should be a good game to see if anyone is interested in seeing a good freshman football game. 

Even the Midgets or younger Boone team was practicing during our games back behind the Stadium that has grass. And another Boone team was practicing out on the other side of the parking lot. They didn't seem to care about the rain. It was really coming down at one point. I'm pouring it on with no pun intended that the Boone Freshman team should of played last night. Other teams in their program were making sacrifices to also play. I'm wondering if the Boone Frosh team is Cherry picking some 8th graders to play up and canceled because of that? I do know that Boone's 8th grade team has a kid that used the re-do rule to do so as a 8th grader and played last night. Why? At least play up with the Frosh even if you reclassified.  Highlands has two 8th graders that played up with the Freshman but under no circumstances that they play down. Once up they stay up.

I do believe most teams when 8th graders play up to play freshman. They usually only play freshman and aren’t allowed to play for a youth team too. If a school has a true middle school team, then I think they could possibly play 8th grade and freshman. I may be wrong on that though.

Most freshman games start at 6:00, so unless they have to start later for some reason. Then it should be around 6.

I guess no one wants to touch whether Cooper cancelled soccer because of rain.... on turf.... let's just make Boone out to be the soft weaker opponent.

Hearing the new field is having drainage issues at Cooper. Maybe a Cooper fan can jump in here and confirm that.

Yikes that's not good, but with the field being installed by the same company, maybe that is the issue at Boone as well.

Strictly from a curiosity perspective, how many boys on this year’s Beechwood Frosh team were also Frosh last year?  How many took advantage of the SSYP?

Three.  But one kid decided in the summer he wasn't going to play football this year.  Another was injured during summer practice and likely out for the season.  The other one plays.  So in reality only 2 on the roster.
