Who was the best QB in the state this year??

Featured Replies

Did Kaelin have 4 intereceptions in 261 attempts this year? I doubt that he is better than Petrino.

I have seen them both play and I would take Ammons over Petrino. He has a better arm, wheels, and is a heck of an athlete.:thumb:

Am I the only one who thinks that four interceptions in 261 attempts is one of the most impressive things that they have ever heard of?

That is very impressive, but Ammons only threw 10 interceptions in 362 attempts, which is also pretty impressive. Ammons also ran over 1200 yards. Heck, Tyler Hancock from Lexington Catholic only threw 9 in 316 attempts, so lets mention his name in that category.

They are all great high school QBs!

I would agree. That is also very impressive.

I heard Ammons and Petrino may end up at Georgetown College together. If that happens, we will see who the better is because that QB will be starting.

so do they both have offers from Georgetown?

Trevor Hoskins from Middlesboro. (6' 4", 190)

Hoskins and Keith Tandy are the only QB's from KY that I know of to commit to D1 Colleges so far, and I'm not sure WVa plans to use Tandy at QB.

Don't have his #'s, but he did very well considering the Jackets run the Veer. Finished top ten in the Atlanta Elite Eleven. His height gives him the nod over Petrino, Ammons, & Tandy as a College QB, and I think he has a far better arm then the other 3 (yes, I've seen them all).

What D-I school did Hoskins committ to play for?

I'm a Nick fan, but there are two QB's who stood out this year against the Rocks. Not sure of name but the Fern Creek QB and Shelby County QB (1st team honors). If either of those QB's had a line, everyone would know them. What is scary is the Creek QB is only a freshman........

I think Eastern's QB was better than either of those two. I think his name is Ferguson.

Well I seen Petrino, play along with Ammons, I will take Ammons.

Thats a luxury that Rock fans don't have. Since Nick was playing 15 games we didn't get a chance to see many other players. You have your opinion. But I'll go with the winner. Nick Petrino is a winner, plain and simple. I don't know if you can say that about Ammons.

Silly argument. Unless you're telling me that the other 21 players on the field were of equal talent, how can you say one is better simply because his team won?

Who's going to be the unanimous 1st team all-state choice?

Not an argument at all. Just a statement of facts and opinion.

I agree Raiderbird,Ammons also took over a team as a Freshman that had been 0-10 and made the playoffs. Then the team improved each year. What a great career by that young man.:ylsuper:
