Who was the best QB in the state this year??

Featured Replies

Give me Ammons. Ammons played both sides of the ball all year and still put up big numbers running and passing.

I also heard Tandy from Christian Co. was pretty good. Actually heard him compared to Couch in certain areas. Was he that good?

Am I the only one who thinks that four interceptions in 261 attempts is one of the most impressive things that they have ever heard of?

Tandy threw 5 Int.'s in 298 attempts and averaged over 18 yards per completion.

I believe Ammons had more yards RUSHING than Mr. football,to say nothing of his passing prowess! Can't wait to watch him prove all who thought he was too short or whatever reason they give for not recruiting him wrong!!!!:ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

^ Again, Nick was by far the best HIGH SCHOOL QB in KY.

I had the pleasure of playing against Hoskins from Middlesboro. He was by far the best Qb that I have ever played against or played with. Coming from a school that prduces great high school QB's (Breathitt County) He reminded me alot of Jacob Hundley in his build. He made plays with his arm, and feet when he had too. He stayed in the pocket very comfortably, and when he broke the line of scrimmage he was dangerous. We watched film on him against Harlan and i believe he slung one well over 60 yards with his feet planted. Simply put the kid is a football player, and deserves to play at the next level. I believe if you put him on a team like the one Nick Petrino was on, the numbers would be unbelievable. In my opinion he was the best QB in the state, and thats coming from a guy who's school is a rival to Middlesboro.

Tandy!

well are either of these players getting college offers???Petrino or Ammons? Someone earlier mentioned Georgetown possibly? Anybody Know?

Nick Petrino was best quarterback in Kentucky in 2006, in my opinion.

Your words that he was "by far" the best quarterback in Kentucky are a little too strong.

I agree with you Grid.I'll take Ammons over ALL the other QB's in the state.:thumb:

Ammons was a great high school QB. So was Ross Deaton, who hasn't been mentioned, probably because he played in the small class, but his numbers were pretty impressive too. I got to see ammons play this season and I watched Petrino play in the State Championship game. Petrino is a better QB. In Ammons defense, I didn't get to watch him in a Championship game! But Ammons in my opinion, is just a good QB, which there were several of those around the state with same skills. I didn't get the chance to see the Tandy kid play, but D-1 is D-1, hard to argue with that.

So make up your mind,is he a great HS QB or just a good QB?You obviously didn't see him play very much.

Well this will be put to rest now.
