I don't see anyway that Fox Sports Ohio would be willing to broadcast a season (whatever the length may be) and not be able to generate at least some income off it. I mean, it's not like their expenditures are just going to disappear. But, I do agree that in this case of supply and demand, that viewership should be at an all-time high. So, subsequently, costs for commercials will likely follow. Now, given the current economic status, how many businesses will actually be able to afford them? Probably only the big ones. But there could be a scenario where the clubs get a bigger cut, and the network still be able to make at least a portion of that deficit up.

With the timing, baseball has now missed that opportunity, unless there is some scenario in which the NBA doesn't get a deal done, which they seem close to doing. Baseball had the perfect opportunity to be the only major sport going for the better part of two months, and now it is looking more and more bleak.

June 2, 20206 yr Anyone else hearing a proposal for 50-60 games? Seems too little, too late. Original proposal floated around was 82 games. Players requested 114 games, owners yesterday said 50. What is halfway between 114 and 50? 82! It appears both sides are negotiating to an answer they already have. But, as others have said, they are blowing an opportunity to generate fans and goodwill by playing games during July when no other team sports will be taking place.

If it's 75% of their full salary and they walk, then I will take baseball off of my backburner of sports and bury it in the bottom of the fridge. Only to be brought back out if nothing else is left.

Yeah, what does the "75% prorated salary" mean exactly? Does that mean they are making 75% of their salary or are the making 25% of their salary? If they are going to pay them 75% of their salary for playing 46% of their games and they walk, they are just being impossible to work with.

They would get 75% of what they would get paid per game but only for the 76 games that are played. So if my math is right they would get 35% of their salary for playing 46% of the games.
