No doubt. Going to race through and peak in January.

Assuming hospitals have capacity, the sooner the better.

Interesting tidbit from the Daily Wire:

About eight out of 10 people who have caught the Omicron variant of COVID-19 were fully vaccinated, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said last week.

That is higher than the current vaccination percent of 62%. I wonder if the unvaccinated are doing a better job of masking and limiting exposure to cause that difference in the numbers.

Doubtful.  They probably just take enough vitamin supplements that enhance true protection.

At 50 ng/mL the theoretical death rate from COVID is zero according to studies.

I am surprised the CDC had that much data on Omicron a week ago.

And sort of like Bluegrasscard is saying, I suspect for whatever reasons unvaccinated people are not as quick to go get tested, especially for something that is mostly mild.

Of course. Amazing more people aren't doing that.

You know it is getting real when even a CNN medical analyst says cloth masks don't work:

CNN medical analyst Leana Wen said Monday on the network that cloth face masks are not effective against the Omicron variant, urging listeners to wear surgical masks instead.

“Don’t wear a cloth mask,” Wen continued. “Cloth masks are little more than facial decorations. There’s no place for them in light of Omicron.”

Anyone that has been paying attention to the actual science knew a long time ago that the masks everyone has been wearing don't work.  And it still amazes me how many people from all sides of everything preach and preach and preach about wearing a mask.  My trust in "experts" would be a negative number if that was possible.

I think if you did not buy into part of "the program" you probably are not buying into any of the program as sold.  Hence, unlikely there is increased mask wearing.  Given the rate of spread early on - many are likely nat-vaxxed.

Hopefully, regardless of the source of CV-19, this latest round is reflection of what normally happens is happening.  That is that viruses lose lethality and severity over time.

Great news!

The efficacy is high, the side effects are low and it’s oral. It checks all the boxes,” said Dr. Gregory Poland of the Mayo Clinic. “You’re looking at a 90% decreased risk of hospitalization and death in a high-risk group — that’s stunning.”

Agree, great news, wish it would have happened much sooner.
