From your last three posts Tp94 the new variant is clearly going to circle the globe like all the rest no matter what us puny humans do.

True.

COVID is no laughing matter but this one caught my attention:

Here is some good news and I wonder how much we will hear about this in America instead of fear mongering.

JOHANNESBURG, Nov 28 (Reuters) - A South African doctor who was one of the first to suspect a different coronavirus strain among patients said on Sunday that symptoms of the Omicron variant were so far mild and could be treated at home.

"Most of them are seeing very, very mild symptoms and none of them so far have admitted patients to surgeries. We have been able to treat these patients conservatively at home," she said.

"The most predominant clinical complaint is severe fatigue for one or two days. With them, the headache and the body aches and pain."

Hopefully this turns out to be true and we don't attempt to turn everyone's lives upside down again.

Zero chance we will see that information on a large scale, IMO.

It creeps closer, from Newsmax:

Canada has confirmed two cases of the Omicron COVID variant in Ontario Sunday, according to Canadian health officials.

Its obvious by now that they have big plans for this "variant".

How do they test for a specific variant?  The EUA only PCR test for "ordinary" 'Rona comes to an end at the end of the year because it is officially deemed unreliable.  But some test is accurate enough to find a "variant' that is different from "ordinary" Covid?

I'm as skeptical about all the information surrounding C-19 as anyone, but there is no "ordinary" Covid. Even the initial Covid-19 strain that swept the world was a variant from a strain before it.

Through genetic testing can determine the variant. Also the omicron is missing one of proteins pcr tests for which actually makes it easier to determine it's omicron because if test has the other 2 proteins and missing the one then for sure know it's omicron.

43.49 today. Has gone up since 11/24 but doesn't look like big spike has happened.
