What great programs here! Beechwood has played a tough schedule and they are peaking at the right time. I haven't seen them play. I've seen Mayfield 1st hand at Paducah Tighlman. GREAT offense. Stinson is one of the best 2 QB's I have seen this year. Throws a great ball. Mayfield played a very tough schedule. McCracken, PT, Madisonville, Hoptown. I have to take Mayfield here.

Strength of schedule is in Beechwood's favor. The bad news on that front for Beechwood is they lost to Paintsville and Newport Catholic and Mayfield rolled over teams similar to those two.

 

Paintsville was the first game of the year and this is a very different Beechwood team now than it was then. Toss that game aside.

 

The Newport Catholic loss ... that is another story. That was a bad loss for Beechwood and is not a good signpost when looking at this Mayfield game. If that Beechwood team shows up in Mayfield, it will be ugly for Beechwood.

I haven't watched any Beechwood film or highlights on Hudl but if they have any type of formidable offense then they will score points on Mayfield. Beechwood just better have a decent secondary or they will get ran out of the stadium. I honestly do not see a blowout coming by any means. I think Mayfield is definitely the better team but a couple timely turnovers and anything can happen. Mayfield is the best team that most of their opponents face all season. This is not the case here. Beechwood has seen it all with their schedule.

If you want to score on Mayfield you better bring a really big O-Line, that’s been the constant with all the teams that have scored on the Cardinals.

The things you mention here point out why this is a terrible matchup for Beechwood. Both areas are being worked on and improved even during the playoffs, but those are significant challenges for Beechwood against Mayfield. The thing Beechwood fans can hang hope on are the defense has been very good all season while the offense has been developing. The defense has been very good and it is improved now from where it was last week and the week before. The coaches keep making tweaks and a couple of players finally being able to play during the playoffs has helped.

If you want to score on Mayfield you better bring a really big O-Line, that’s been the constant with all the teams that have scored on the Cardinals.

Well, make that obstacle #3 on the bad matchup list for Beechwood because their o-line is not big. It is one of the smallest I can remember at Beechwood.

If Mayfield beats Beechwood by 10 or less that wouldn't be a good sign, but I say they will take it by 2 scores.
