Big statement by the Rebels, I don’t know if anyone will play them close. Lexington Catholic might and that may be a push saying that.

We have to play Highland first and they are playing some good ball.

I watched CAL against Christian County and could definitely see that they weren't the team they were last year but WOW!

LexCath lost to 2A LCA tonight in a nail biter. That being said, I don't see them being anywhere near the level of playing Boyle very close.

Highlands is currently the team giving me the most concern. I will worry about Lexington Catholic in a few weeks. Offensively Boyle was fantastic tonight. The only drive they didn’t score on, they stopped themselves. Defensively they were exposed some. The backside help kept getting caught up on what was going on away from them and let a guy sneak by and ended up being wide open for a touchdown on 3 separate occasions.

Opening play of the game. Not sure what happened but the secondary missed him. CAL was picking on #5 all night. Riley Colewick played with a cast on and played great after Bartelson went out.

It's an exciting time for high school football.

I don't mean this post in any way as disrespect towards Boyle County. They are very, very good and I don't think anyone will come close to them!

 

With that said, the score surprises me, but I figured would be a big blowout. CAL is simply not even close to what they had been in recent years. Coach LeFores wouldn't have left if he had a stacked team like he's had recently.

That’s unfortunate. He shouldn’t get the blame for CAL not being at Boyle County’s level. Hell, that’s genetic.

Off the top of my head, I can't recall a more comprehensive rout of one top ranked team over another in this state. This was a frightening display from Boyle, with or without the Babin's suiting up for CAL.
