Getslow
Like calling owners, owners. So whose irritation is justified? The people looking to change a thing or the people reflexively defending something that has absolutely no bearing on their lives whatsoever? Randy Parker
So whose irritation is justified? The people looking to change a thing or the people reflexively defending something that has absolutely no bearing on their lives whatsoever? As you stated, it's a really easy game to play. My answer is that people who liken NBA ownership to owning slaves have no justification for irritation. As JD stated, it's an insult to those who really were forced into slavery. I would add that it hurts the battle against legitimate racial problems.

TheDeuce
It will probably make me watch less NBA. No it won't. Just like people don't watch less NFL.
Irish Cat
Next up, we are going to have to change the terminology for when a player gets traded.
Jumper_Dad
For what it's worth, the term owner was used when the NBA had only white players, too.
PurplePride92
No one has ever cared about the psychology of Black Americans. I wouldn’t expect anyone to care about attempts at soothing that psychology. Even if not a single person in the world is hurt by that soothing.
John Anthony
Owners own the franchise not the players and the NBA is an at will employment. We continue to reach new lows.
sportsfan41
No it won't. Just like people don't watch less NFL. NFL ratings and my personal experience says otherwise.
John Anthony
Damian Lillard is about to get 47 million per year, for 4 years by the estate of Paul Allen. Does that fly?
PurplePride92
NFL ratings and my personal experience says otherwise. NFL ratings are still higher than every sport and Sunday Night Football was at worst the 2nd highest rated show in all of TV last year. So while the technical numbers say ratings are down the NFL is still amongst the most watched events on television.

Ratings indicate that there were in fact less people watching.

sportsfan41
My bad. What were you stating then? Added to my previous post. Perhaps I should've bolded Deuces second statement that there aren't less people watching football.
