The NBA is reportedly considering dropping the term "owner".

Owning a franchise isn't the same as owning the people that work there. If people can't see the difference I don't what to say. Everyone working for a team from parking attendants to power forwards are being paid for their services and are free to come and go as they please.

 

No person is owned, a team, business or franchise is owned...everyone else is a well compensated employee. Comparing it to slavery in any way does a disservice to the lives and memories of actual slaves.
