Lexington Catholic won with defense last year and CovCath has a very good defense. I thought all along that the winner of the Lexington Catholic-CovCath would win it all. I am going with CovCath because of their defense and who they beat to get there.

I say Bowling Green will win. Will be a very tight game with some heart stoppers I am sure. Bowling Green wants it this year and can get it. This is a great team. They did very well against ST X with many injuries. I truely believe The Purples will bring it home this year!!

I want to BG win this game. I think it will be a very close one though. I'll check some scores later to get more of a feel of it but I have a feeling BG is going to win this one.

I can't find any common opponents between the two schools but if comparing some scores means anything (probably not...)

Bowling green 21 central 14

Central 47 Southwestern 40

Highlands 49 Southwestern 14

Covcath 25 Highlands 15

Covcath 29 Highlands 27

Covcath will win this by ATLEAST 2 scores. They are just clicking on all cylinders and to be honest are more battle tested than Bowling Green. When is the last time a Ky or any team beat Highlands 2 times in the same year?

Covcath 35

BG 21

I would love to have seen the winner of this game (CCH?) against Trinity this year.

If Bowling Green comes out of this game with a win they will have flat-out earned it -- I'll leave it at that.

The forecast for Friday night, however, may play into BG's hands. Freezing cold with snow flurries.

Remember this...Covcath plays on turf all year. They are used to playing on that surface in any weather conditions.

Thanks. ;)

Thanks. ;)

CCH has already played well in bad weather twice this year, rainy and cold, and the temp at LexCath was about 30 degrees.

Weather will be a non-factor for this team.

I will say this...I was thoroughly impressed with Cov Cath Friday night at Johnson Central. Their efficiency was impressive and the QB has a cannon. I was also impressed with the offensive line. They blew JC off the ball all night long and kept the Golden Eagles out of the backfield as well. The routes were run with precision and the receivers were very athletic. They also had the ability to run the stretch and the back was very quick.

I look for Cov Cath to win it all. To quote h.s.sportsrbest, "If Bowling Green comes out of this game with a win they will have flat-out earned it."

Can BG stop the passing attack of Cov Cath will be the deciding factor in this game, IMO.

Purples will win this one.

Good input OldRocket.

BTW, CCH is 5-0 in State Championships.

I was at the Bowling Green win over Central. I have not seen Covington Catholic play. I have seen Highlands play. Covington Catholic wins this game by 21.

I spoke to Mark Wehry and Jason Elfers. While they haven't narrowed it down quite yet, they are well on their way to knowing where Bowling Green is located. They know its south of Williamstown.
