BGP QOTD: What time do you set your alarm in the morning?

Featured Replies

4:20 and I put it in the bathroom so I have to get up...not that the dogs would let me sleep anyway.

5:15. Never have hit a snooze button.

Same for me, 5:15. Never understood the snooze button. When it’s time to get up, it’s time to get up. Seems like you are torturing yourself to hit the snooze button only to hear the alarm just as you start to fall asleep again.

6am, although I'm usually awake a couple minutes before.....rarely does the alarm actually wake me up. I've never used the snooze. I had a roommate in college that would hit the snooze sometimes 5 or 6 times, and it was all I could do to not smother him with his pillow. I am generally on the road by 7:10 so I can get to the office downtown by 7:45.

Weekends and off days, I don't set the alarm, but I'm still usually awake by 6, although I will lay in bed, sometimes going back to sleep. I'm still usually up and moving by 7:30.

I seldom need an alarm and am generally awake before 6:00. It's been that way all my life. Now, I have set countless alarms, but I would say 3% of the time have I ever slept up to an alarm. My wife has her alarm set for 6:30, typically, so that is my insurance policy.

Odd bugatti quirk. Every alarm I set MUST end in the number four. I do not know why, or how it started, but it is just a rule. If you look on my iPhone alarm clock times previously set, it reflects 3:54, 4:04, 4:14, 4:24, etc.

Zero. The number of times I have used the snooze feature. It makes no sense to me and believe there should be a federal prohibition on it. To add, my anxiety would never allow me to get back to sleep for another nine minutes.

6:05 during the school year, 7:05 during the summer when I don’t have to allow time for a school drop-off (woo hoo that’s coming soon!)

I occasionally hit the snooze.

One strange thing is that I never set the alarm for the top or bottom of an hour i.e. never :00 or :30 – I’ve always related it to a slight OCD or superstitious tendency lol

6:00 alarm - I get up and pray while wife showers first - I go back to bed and doze until 6:35 - my wife finishes and lets me know that it is 6:35 - when I'm done, I'll relax until 7:15 - then I get dressed and am out the door by 7:30.

6:30 but never sleep till then; my wife or the dogs will wake me prior to that usually 7 days a week.

6:20am every day. Roll out of bed and turn the alarm off and go back to sleep on the weekend, but I try to stay in the routine of getting up at that time. Waking up early has never been easy for me, so I’m training my mind and body.

5:25....got to make the Liar's Club for coffee and stories.

I worked 2nd or 3rd shift most of my working career to avoid higher-ups talking crap to justify their position, so I slept after work when working 3rd shift, and was always awake long before having to go back into work, so no need for an alarm clock. Now I have no need for one at all.

As a kid in school my Mom was my alarm clock, so I can proudly say that I've never lived by an alarm clock, and nothing is worse than being jarred out of a good sleep by the annoying ear piercing sound of such a mechanism telling me I must wake up. No way no how.

Sometimes I get into a rhythm like the one I'm in right now. Today marked five days in a row where I woke up between 5:50 and 5:56, just minutes in advance of my 6:00 am alarm. The body can be amazing sometimes.
