I also am one of the most realistic sports fans I know. I don't give credit to anyone just because of who they play for I rate everyone based on their abilities. I hated to see Brohm go down each time.
November 12, 200619 yr I thought this was a joke at first but the numbers for Woodsen are impressive this year. Nevertheless, Brohm would be my pick. Woodsen has done great this year but Brohm has been injured. Overall, career wise and head to head, I think Brohm is it right now.
November 12, 200619 yr Whoa whoa whoa... Payton Manning....I dont kno about that one...:creepy: Not referring to the talent, only his mannerism and ability to understand the game and ability to read the defense. Brohm is a very smart QB as is PM and their game is very similar.
November 12, 200619 yr I'll take Brian Brohm, but Woodson is having a great year. Brohm was one of the top recruits in the nation, but I believe Woodson was a top 8 QB. Wasn't he invited to a quarterback camp that named him a top 8 quarterback? But, like I said, I'll take Brohm.

Brohm has one bad half and he's suddenly slipped into the 7th round. Woodson has played well this year; you can't take that away from him. But I would suspect a game-by-game look at his numbers would reveal he loads up against the weak links on the UK schedule and fades when the opponents are toughest. Brohm had one of his best games of the year against WVU.

BTW... do you still think your backup is better than our starter? As for the question... I would take Brohm as well. November 12, 200619 yr Something to think about when about Woodson and his decision making. He has the lowest interception percentage of any SEC quarterback ever with at least 400 attempts--including Peyton Manning. I'm not saying Woodson is as good as Peyton or even Brohm, however I think that any Manning/Brohm comparisons are ludicrous. Louisville has one of the top if not the top offense in the country and yet Brohm has only 6 touchdown passes in 7 games played (his backup has 5 in 2 games), I don't think that 7 starts into his junior year that Manning had such so-so stats.
November 12, 200619 yr The stats are interesting. I am surprised Woody has better stats. What you have to ask yourself is, put Brohm on UK and Woody on UL. Give Woody UL's talent and what are his stats then?

November 12, 200619 yr Nothing brave about it. Look Andre has made a great improvement. Yesterday, he had 3-4 open receivers for TD's and flat missed them. Andre is not very mobile and still takes unnecesary sacks...he is getting better and has done it behind a line that is average. Brohm is a first round pick...he can change so many things at the LOS. He is fairly accurate. Woodson has had games where he was taken to the shed...see LSU. Andre has been better than Brohm this season. However, Brohm was also coming off of major knee surgery, lost Michael Bush at RB (a legit Heisman candidate) and then had an injured throwing hand. One of these would impact ANY QB much less having to deal with all 3. Brohm is obviously more mobile and his rushing yards show that. However, Andre doesn't have the same level of play from the O line that Brohm has, but they are getting better. And Andre is starting to learn when to pull it down and get what you can much better the past 3 games. As far as missing open recievers, every QB does it. If all their passes were perfect, their completion percentages would be higher than they are. His numbers against the #19 ranked pass defense in the country were phenomenal. 27/42 for 450 yards and 4 TDs with 0 INTs. His interception percentage for his career is the lowest in SEC history for ANY QB who has thrown over 400 passes. Woodson had 1 game when he and the whole team was 'taken to the shed' and if anything, the team has performed better since getting that particular smack in the mouth. He has a much younger team around him but the players are responding to him as a leader and I wouldn't trade him for any QB in college football right now. At the beginning of the season if you told me "I will trade you Brohm for Woodson" I would have jumped all over it. Now, it seems that both QB's are the perfect fit for their teams. Brohm was preordained to be a top draft pick and I still believe he will be. Woodson was not but is playing like one of the best QB's in the country right now. I am just pleased to see 2 KY boys playing the QB position so well for instate schools. I haven't been that pleased since Couch was at UK and Redmon was at UL. Fans of both schools should just be happy with that!

I am sure that number has gone down a little bit with Woodson's numbers from Saturday.
