I also had plenty of Hot Wheels, and probably every Ninja Turtle item/accessory you could imagine.

Wow...feeling really old reading some of the posts on here. This was the extent of electronic "gaming" in our house.

This was the cool gift, later on I got the Chopper to replace the stunt cycle...good times.

Was there a kid in the late 80s and early 90s that didn't have a Nintendo at the top of his list?

 

I'm pretty sure I got mine in 1989 or 1990. It was everything I hoped it could be.

Way back in the 70’s, there was no toy you couldn’t get. Cabbage Patch Dolls in the 80’s were the first toys I remember that you had to plot and scheme to get.

 

When My kids were growing up in the 90’s I was always on the hunt for those hard to get video game consoles, video games, power rangers, etc. There was always that one toy that would whip me into a frenzy certain that Christmas would be ruined if I didn’t get it. It was kind of like a sport. Stupidly, I always came through.

When I was about 12 or 13 the Mattel Football game was THE HOT GIFT!

 

The one with the little red LED running back and the dim red defenders. There was one local electronics store that carried them and it was said some parents were slipping the owner $100 extra to get them. I think they got in like 12 a week and sold out before they came in...the $100 got you higher on the waiting list.

 

I got the Mattel handheld Basketball game that year...not a big demand for those I guess.

When I was younger, around 10, it was electric football, and any of the Mattel handheld, sports games. My teen years was when video games started to get affordable—-Atari, Intellivision and the games that went with them.

I got a Wilson A2000 one year that I used for 4 years of HS ball and still have and it’s in pristine shape. A well taken care of, quality baseball glove can last forever.
