We fired ours back up a year ago or so.

 

I tried to buy one from my bosses wife, as it was just sitting in the box. They ended up getting it back out and playing it again.

It was 1951. I was 10 years old. My dad, an independent truck driver, had broken his leg badly just before Thanksgiving. He was on bed rest. I will never know why, maybe she was just so stressed, but my mom gave my 8 year old sister and me $10. and let us out of the car at the five and dime with instructions to buy ourselves and our 3 younger siblings presents for Christmas. My sister bought me a doll. I had never played with dolls. I bought her the coolest doctor kit ever. She had never expressed any interest in one. We bought the other kids gifts and a Cootee game because we still had money. We all sat on Dad's bed Christmas day and played Cootees. Best Christmas ever and my sister and I traded gifts.

Played this game for hours and hours.

My parents got us an Atari 2600 when they re-released it in 1986. Within a year or two we were asking for the original Nintendo because it was the newest best thing, so they officially said they were done giving us any video games. They relented a little and gave us a Game Boy when it came out for Christmas 1989 - I think that was more for their own benefit as a motivational tool to get us to finish our homework. The first one done with their homework for the night got 30 minutes of Game Boy time that night, and the rest of us got 15 minutes a piece once we had finished with our homework.

 

The only other big thing I remember asking for and getting was a pair of RollerBlades, either 1990 or 1991.

 

I asked Santa for a dog every single year that I actually wrote up a Christmas list (my parents saved all of our Letters To Santa and put them in with our keepsakes when we moved out)...that fat jerk never got me a dog, even though he gave THREE of my good friends dogs for Christmas. My parents' explanation was that when moms & dads decide to have kids, they have a meeting with Santa Claus where they write up a contract where Santa agrees to how much money he can spend and what gifts are off limits for their kids on Christmas. Control freaks :lol2: :lol2:

Hey, it's not bad for someone who never owned a Nintendo console.

First gaming console I ever got was the Sega Genesis. I think I was like 5 or 6.

 

I distinctly remember getting that and then the original Playstation. Outher than those, there was nothing that sticks out in my mind.

 

The first big one I remember was the Super Nintendo. I was never a Sega family.

I also had plenty of Hot Wheels, and probably every Ninja Turtle item/accessory you could imagine.

 

I had a ton of Ninja Turtles stuff as well.

 

 

Macho man wrestling doll was also a hit back then. I wonder where that thing is. Just looked on ebay and those bad boys are going for $100.

 

I actually didn't watch A Christmas Story for the first time until after I had already had my first BB gun ironically enough. I still have it to this day in a closet somewhere.

 

Go find it and locate your nearest copy of A Christmas Story. Use said BB gun and destroy that VHS with as many shots as it takes.

I got a Wilson A2000 one year that I used for 4 years of HS ball and still have and it’s in pristine shape. A well taken care of, quality baseball glove can last forever.

 

These are the best gloves every made. I went through like three, lost one, and it was my sons first glove. I believe he still has it.

James Bond attache case. Fired cheesy red plastic bullets about two feet. Great for close-quarters combat.
