Sounds like Mayfield showed the heart of a champion but CAL was just too strong.

Well stated.

Congrats CAL! Another one for The Ville!

The 2 best teams made it to the ship and the best team won.

Hats off to CAL. Heck of a football team. Can’t say enough about Mayfield. Down 20-7 at half, fought like crazy in the second half and had an opportunity to tie the game. That’s all you can ask for. Great season for Mayfield and they have a lot to be proud of.

Congratulations to the Centurions. This senior class has helped elevate the CAL program to elite status. They now own two titles in three years in one of the state's toughest classes. They've also got two playoff wins over Mayfield. That's no small feat.

Congratulations to CAL and good luck in 3A! Congratulations to Mayfield on a very impressive season. CAL will make an instant impact on the 3A landscape next season IMO.

Congrats to CAL.

Agree - Mayfield terrific program.

To take their measure - x2 - in credible feat.

Congrats to both !!!!

If I remember correct calpreps had this game predicted at 34-28 CAL. Pretty close.

When’s last time Mayfield lost back-to-back titles?

Congratulations to CAL, awesome team, great season....and a shout out to Mayfield for never giving up while down 20, a heart of a Lion.. err Cardinal.
