Didn't CovCath play 4th round game away last year. Why are they playing away this year? Should be home field based on record. Be better and get home field. Pretty ridiculous.

Just bad luck in the cross bracketing. Boyle County is going through the same thing.

This game should be moved to CovCath. If Pulaski County can’t take care of their field properly then they shouldn’t be allowed to host such an important game. Folks can say all they want to about it being in November, it’s the playoffs, blah blah blah. I’ve seen tons of November games and I have never seen a field that looks that bad. That’s just poor field management. I bet if the game was moved the field would be taken care of much better in the future.

And if we all agree that the game doesn’t matter because CovCath is going to destroy them then move it to CovCath.

Covcath would win on ice, bring on the mud.

Maybe it’s good for the colonels to experience a little adversity and grit before they get to Kroger Field and play what we all think will be a gritty tough game.

This is their 5th semifinal appearance in 6 years. Over those six years they have played in 4 state championship games, winning it all in 2014.

They have been as consistently good as all but a very few teams in the state over the last 6 years.

I know SK beat them 50 to 7 in 2012.

So my only question is in what what shape or form would you recommend for them to do to possibly avoid it being like that? Should they have moved every single home game that their was rain this year to save the field for anticipation for a semi final home game? I have zero idea if they have soccer or not. But if they do and soccer plays there should they have moved every soccer game?

I would get what you are saying if this was like a normal year. Where it didnt rain as much as this year. But almost every grass field out there, especially if teams are still playing. Are in horrible shape right now if games kept getting played on them for the last 2 months with all this rain.

For me its kind of funny. Because you never hear a word about a game needing to get moved. If it's two teams who play on grass playing each other and the field is a muddy mess. But as soon as a good turf team has to play on it. Watch out. If Covcath was grass, I don't think anyone would be saying a word about the field.

Now as for the game. I will say the same thing I said in the Anderson County vs. Highlands thread when people thought Highlands would win easily. Pulaski is well coached and has a good qb. They are use to this playing surface. While Covcath has played basically on perfect footed surface all year with only a half of a game being on grass. I think Covcath wins, but I do think it will keep the game closer than some think.

Won’t hurt to play in the mud. Wouldn’t mud be a softer / slower surface? Wouldn’t that make it less likely to get hurt? Real question, do players get hurt more on muddy fields?

Colonels by a lot, don’t matter if they play on hot lava.

I’d recommend taking care of their field the way everyone else does.

Who can tell me about Tristan Cox? A sophomore committed to UK — has rushed for a team-high 20 TDs and recorded 103 tackles for the Maroons.

Looks like a nice player.

Just curious. Does anyone know how many teams left play on grass fields?

Does Corbin have a grass field?

Yes Corbin is grass, as is Knox Central who has had to play at least twice in the playoffs at Union College because their field was in such bad shape. Somerset is also grass.

btw answering an earlier question Pulaski County has a separate soccer field.

I know SK beat them 50 to 7 in 2012.
