NOTHING is, nor will be, bigger in this state. It's great that UL has a football team, and I myself will be pulling for them. However, this is still a basketball state.

Wow, while I admire the passion and dedication of some of my fellow UK fans, not in 1 million years would I watch a preseason game v. Lindsay Lohan, err, Lindsey Wilson, over the #3 versus #5 College Football teams in America. Never.

At first I thought this was a joke! Bottom line for me I am a sports fan. If there is a big game on tv...I am watching it. It doesn't matter what team it is.

:thumb: I agree. I lucky for us with the miracle that is TIVO, we no longer have to choose in such instances.

Thankfully, the state is moving in the direction of at least being a state who appreciates good sports, whether football or basketball. Only in Kentucky would people be proud to say their "state school", the "jewel of the post-secondary educational system" excels at basketball and fails at football. It's simply too sad for words that so many will not pull for another in-state school in a big-game situation. Yet, the same will expect...no demand...the support and hoorahs when their basketball team is in a big-game situation.

 

 

And...all this from a fan base of which most never attended the university at all.

No, ill be watching the UK game...that is MUST SEE if you ask me. WVU v. UL will be a great game, but in the end, neither one of these teams will be in the title game so it really doesnt matter.

If that's the case you can rest assured that UK won't be there either.,

I can't imagine anyone not wanting to watch the U of L game. You can always flip over to the UK game now and then to see how bad they're beating (I hope) Lindsey Lohan.*

Maybe, you would like to come down off of your high horse and join the rest of us.

 

I enjoy being a UK fan and I love the fact that there are alot of UK fans that love their team to the point insanity. This is what makes college sports so fun.

 

Don't start taking shots at a fan base that may or may not have been afforded the ability to attend a major university.

I'll be watching my computer screen at work... Checking in on UL/WVU on lunches and breaks... And recording the UK game to watch when I get home.

 

I'd record UL/WVU but aside from knowing the final score and winner and loser, there's not really a lot I need to know about that one. It's a lot easier for me to sit down and watch a taped basketball game than a taped football game.

A glorified practice session over a college football game between such highly ranked teams, with national title implications? No brainer....unless you despise college football or are a die-hard Lindsey Wilson fan.

I will watch the football game until WVU extends their lead to 21 points then I will tune in the UK game.

I will be at the U of L game, so I will not watch any tv.

Please...give me a break! Don't start preaching to me about being on a high horse. I have to listen to UK fans take shots at Louisville fans for anything and everything:

 

Louisville is a "commuter school"...what's that got to do with the price of tea in China?

 

Louisville is comprised of thugs and criminals...been on campus? Met any students?

 

Louisville fans are unreasonable....well at least we support our coaches, unlike the "fans" at UK! Talk about unreasonable!

 

Frankly, I'll stay up here on my high horse, enjoying some dang good football and some dang good basketball at our little commuter school. I'll root for the other schools in the state as long as they aren't playing the Cards. I personally believe any good exposure for Kentucky as a state is worth cheering for. But then, I am an unreasonable Louisville fan...what do I know.
