Not sure it is team chemistry as it is about organization chemistry, which is important. I do not think the players care. What is in the back of every organization's mind is a scenario where Kaep is a backup, and the starter does not perform well. Then the ground swell starts by non-football folks that the team is punishing Kaep for his stance. A better version of Tim Tebow but with the potential of exploding.

I dont see how he can try to sue the NFL for not being on a team. I mean isnt an owner allowed to decide who he wants and why?

You dont even have to hit a woman to get suspended. All it takes is someone accusing you of it and you will be suspended.

He's done 40 per game 1 year. For his career he only averages 33.3.

 

Kap is probably a better passer than Cam. Cam's rushing yards are better and his TD's are much better. Cam just is not that accurate and he throws too many int's for the number of TD's he is going to get. Again his rushing TD's make up for a lot of issues. If not for that I think Cam would be struggling to keep his starting job. Also his 2015 year was just so good (other than comp % just being ok). Having a year like that will buy you a lot of slack.

 

 

Okay. I wasn’t sure how much someone like him averaged rushing per game. If he could average 30-40 yards a game rushing on top of his 200 yards passing per game average I think that would be acceptable and something he is capable of doing.

It’s a lot closer than people think. Other than Cam’s MVP season he and Kaepernick are extremely similar and close in stats.

Positive to a team and their chemistry. Kaep is well respected amongst players. Negative for some of the fans is all.

I would take Cam, but I agree with PP92 the gap is closer than people think. And this is not because I think Kaep is great, but because I think Cam gets overrated as a elite QB. Too inconsistent for me. I've always secretly had a man crush on Cam, so there is that, too in why I would take him

 

I do think the longer Kaep doesn't play, his aura as a player (on the field) grows. Some act like Kaep was on the verge of greatness when the knee thing started, when that wasn't the case. He was dealt a tough hand with the coaching situation, no doubt, and then the injury... it was safe to say he was in the back half of starters. Probably in that 15-20 range. Right where you don't want to mortgage your future. It has been a running joke for Bill Simmons and Cousin Sal to bet against the 49ers when Kaep started because his numbers were hollow and they would never cover.

Yes but the issue is that the owners are claiming that they didn’t collude to keep him out and it appears that they did. I’m interested in seeing how the case turns out because history says that the owners will win their case easily even though we all know what happened.

I still don't know why any owner wouldn't want the best possible player. Its all about the wins and money in the NFL.

 

Maybe they colluded that they didnt want him because he was the main one responsible for the fans uproar.

IMO a silent peaceful protest would be stay in the locker room and then come out. But thats my opinion.

Which puts him out sight. Out sight, out of mind. Wouldn't have nearly the same visibility or impact. Which means it really wouldn't be a protest.

I understand numbers wise the numbers are relatively close, but numbers don’t tell the whole story IMO. I think Cam is obviously a QB that you could build a franchise around, I’ve never viewed Kap in that light. I don’t think Kap was ever that far ahead of the Alex Smith, Andy Dalton crowd of QB’s. I get he replaced Alex Smith, but the same team Kap took to the super bowl, Smith took to a 13-3 record and an NFC Championship game.

Even if he supported America he’s still a flash in the pan QB, who’s been replaced by the new crop of QBs.

To win his case I guess all he needs is

1. A copy of the emails between owners

2. Get someone on the No Kap conference call to tell the truth under oath

Or

3. Get anyone in the room when it was discussed between all the owners to testify under oath that the owners all decided this.

 

There are way too many people around the owners (Assistants, G.M.s or others) that if they colluded to keep him out, someone didn't hear it. Perjury is a strong motivation to tell the truth also...if they collude it will come out.

 

If the 10 or so owners that could have used a QB, decided on thier own, taking him was a bad business decision for thier team...that's not collusion. It's a business decision.
