K-State’s game last round ranks as one of the top 3 worst games I have ever watched in my life. This wasn’t much better. But it worked and they forced UK into their game. Congrats and good luck in the Elite 8!

 

I am with you. That Kansas State UMBC game was unwatchable. This one was almost as bad. Kansas State has their template for tournament wins - physical hacking defense and muck the game up.

Weber completely took away UK’s offense in the second half. UK was stuck going to PJ and hoping for the best. Cal simply had no answer.

Answer? Cal put his team in position to succeed, but they couldn’t convert at the line.

Game was brutal, refs were to big in this one. Let them play.

I feel bad for Washington. Sure he missed a ton of free throws, but how many did anyone expect to go in anyway? Someone else needed to step up but they didn't or weren't told to.

 

I love Cal and what he's done for this program but this one is on him. I got so tired of screaming to drive the ball to the basket when K.State had four guys with four fouls that I eventually just sat silent and watched it play out the way I knew it was going to.

 

No inside presence other than PJ, no timeout from Cal at the end if the game to set up a play or two. It was just a free for all.

You really don't deserve to win when you only have 16 FG's and only shoot 23-37 from the line and make 15 turnovers. Also to give up 11 offensive rebounds to a team that you had probably at least 3 inches or more at every position. Let me be the first to say the officials did not cost the Cats in this one. A tough loss when you had all of the upsets and not move on.

I thought the difference was in how K-State guarded SGA and took him out of his rhythm, making UK’s offense look disheveled. UK took off this season when SGA began getting to the hoop and creating... he barely made it there tonight.

And while saying missed free throws killed us is true, why was Washington shooting so many free throws? Because he and Knox were the only 2 who came to play.

 

They played hard. At the end of the day Alexander has been the key to this team and he had a rough day.

He really struggled at times and had a few very cost turnovers. KState had more than double UKs points off turnovers. Giving a crappy offense easy points.

I see it very much like him. You're wrong. Today has not been there norm for the past month.

I almost think he didn't call a TO because we had length at every postion. Most games I would trust Shai to create, but he wasn't playing well at all tonight. Should've used one.

 

Sure looks like they had a play drawn up for Knox and but K State defended and shut it down. Got a decent look. I would have maybe tried to get Wenyen a shot after using Knox as a decoy.

 

That last shot by SGA was not a decent look. Green's shot was a better look than that one. SGA is not good at creating a 3 off the dribble. Has he done that once this entire season?

Selfishly I am glad this season is over. Can get back to the NBA where the quality of play is 20 times better than the college product.
