Physicality and quickness of the KSU guards and their overall depth too much to overcome in the end. Cats did a lot of good things late in the year, just didnt have it tonight from the tip (down 13 to 1). Tied at 58 just couldnt get the last reb ( UK was +9 reb in game). On to next year GO Cats!

K-State’s game last round ranks as one of the top 3 worst games I have ever watched in my life. This wasn’t much better. But it worked and they forced UK into their game. Congrats and good luck in the Elite 8!

Green with an absolutely terrible forced shot at the end when we were down two. Just a bunch of stupid plays in crucial situations.

 

I have probably been his #1 supporter on here throughout the season. There is no defending that and a couple bad turnovers.

UK lost this game in the first 3 minutes. Getting behind 13-1 set the tone for the game and UK played from behind the entire game. K State played loose and confident after that start.

Every time they got the lead and had a chance to extend it, they did something stupid. Man.

Looked like they tried to get a play to Knox and K state shut it down. So Alexander had to force a shot.

 

Weber completely took away UK’s offense in the second half. UK was stuck going to PJ and hoping for the best. Cal simply had no answer.

I agree on not calling the timeout then, but it looked to me on the last play it was designed for both Knox and Green to come off screens for 3's and K-State did a good job of taking those away.imo

Dude you been wrong about this team. Two years in a row you predicted 1st weekend losses for this team in Janaury come tourny time. Two years in a row wrong. If the February team showed up today they lose by 20 because defensively K state would have been hitting outside and inside. Alexander had a rough game today, but at the end of the day the offense had 20 free throws by Washington. So they can't score if he is shooting free throws and can't make it. It's not rose colored glasses, it's seeing stuff you can't see.

And while saying missed free throws killed us is true, why was Washington shooting so many free throws? Because he and Knox were the only 2 who came to play.

Washington played like a warrior, but will be remembered for 8-20 at the foul line.

Not sure who will have more nightmares. Nazr Mohammed and his 0-6 performance in the ‘97 Finals, or PJ tonight. On balance, as you alluded to, he was he reason they were in the game.

UK got Knox going in the 2nd half. Problem is any time Washington got the ball he got fouled, so that stopped anyone from even getting to shoot. That was so bad lol

Tough pill to swallow knowing the path in front of you. I feel bad for Washington because he battled his butt off all night. Missing 12 free throws in a close game like that is just brutal. Diallo turned back into what he has been most of the year and no one really stepped up. We saw a few of the flaws that plagued them all year come out in this game more so than the last two.

I almost think he didn't call a TO because we had length at every postion. Most games I would trust Shai to create, but he wasn't playing well at all tonight. Should've used one.

 

Sure looks like they had a play drawn up for Knox and but K State defended and shut it down. Got a decent look. I would have maybe tried to get Wenyen a shot after using Knox as a decoy.
