January 16, 20188 yr 6-8 inches in the Ashland area. We tried to wait it out before starting snow removal but it seemingly didn't want to stop, so we ended up heading out at 10'ish anyway and will have to go do nearly everything again tomorrow. It was snowing around 1" an hour at times. Finally stopped around 5:30, about half an hour after we called it a day hah. When I went to bed last night I was pretty confident that we would only get about 2-3 inches but the system seemed to stall out today and just kept training over the same area's.
January 17, 20188 yr Author I hope I was able to help some out over this last winter weather event. This weekend we should get a break from the frigid temps. We can expect high temps from the mid-30s to low 40s on Saturday. Sunday high temps should rise some. Look for temps ranging from the mid-40s to low 50s with scattered showers possible Sunday afternoon. More widespread rain/showers will move in Kentucky on Monday. The break from the temps will end Monday evening as the rain moves out. Some could see some snow flurries/showers. There may be some light accumulations. A dusting to around 1/2 inch. I'll update the information if/when it warrants it. Take care and be careful if you have to travel today.
January 17, 20188 yr @nWo what was up with the surprise dusting in NKY when I woke up? Still coming down at a pretty steady pace. It will be enough I’ll have to give the drive way a slight trim when it stops. This thing just won’t go away. LOL

There's just enough lift in the middle and upward parts of the atmosphere to cause these snow showers or flurries. Really not a big deal. Don't see much accumulation over a dusting happening.
