No question that the kid has talent that will only get better with concentration solely on football 24/7/365. But, I disagree a bit that he will play right away. The jump from high school to college is a very big one and especially for QB's IMO. Look for him to redshirt wherever he goes, get a full season under his belt and go from there.

 

The only thing that I will say is do not under any circumstance go to UK, the graveyard of QB's.

They have these kids schedules down to a science. He’ll probably redshirt, get settled in college and graduate in 5 years with a MBA from Miami. Good deal.

I look at it as this. If Pat, Zeke, and Barker could get full rides to SEC schools, why has Mayer not gotten a sniff? You can throw Lorenzen in there as well. That would be a fairer question.

Mayer will have Sam Murrer OL there to show him around and block for him.

He's going to Miami because he is going for school...excellent school

I went to Miami. Great campus w/ great academics. Remember, big time players in KY dont always pan out on the big stage. He’s going to a D1 program w/ little to no expectations. Great fit. Wish him the best!
