In the Beatty era has Trinity ever lost to X in the playoffs after beating them in the regular season?

 

No, they have only lost X in the playoffs with Beatty once, in 2009. That year X won the regular season game as well.

 

It still stands as the only time in the Beatty era where T has lost to X in the playoffs.

Truthsayer, the type of games that worry me, is the year Saint Xavier beat Trinity 42-6 , then Trinity came back in the state final and beat Saint Xavier. No one thought Trinity had a chance to win that game. This years game, has a similar feel to it. I get the feeling not many people give Saint Xavier much of a chance to win this years as well. I get the feeling the Tiger players know something, no one else is willing to see.

 

Believe the T Coaching staff will make sure to emphasize that fact all week long.

I feel Trinity will run away with this game and win big. I’m going 42-17 but there is also a part of me over the years that tells me anything can happen especially with 14–18 year old young men playing. I’m a big Trinity fan and respect the St X program and know we have to come out and play and not assume anything while playing for the title!

This will be a war. To the post wondering about the interest outside of the T & X fan base, I would say you will get your money's worth going to this one. In fact, if you've never seen T or X I am 100% confident you will enjoy this show.

I think Trinity has the advantage from the injury perspective. Albers, Moeretti, Allgeier, Dobson, all injured over the last 5 weeks plus going through the war against Scott County last week with a number of players limping at the end.

Serious question. With Trinity no doubt being on another level thank the rest of 6A with Male breaking through on rare occasions, does anyone outside of Trinity and X fan base actually care about this game?

In many cases, do many people care about championship games in which their team is not playing? I don't have much interest in the 1A-5A championship games. I think last year there was some interest in Lafayette making it. All in all , this game will have the same amount of outside interest as almost any other final.

While I voted for X, I don’t think they have enough firepower on offense to keep pace with T. If X can move the ball and sustain drives, something they were unable to do in the regular season meeting it could be closer, but in the end I think T will win.
