October 24, 20179 yr And when many of the players on the roster have very similar skill sets, the roster becomes limited. That's been the point all along, chief... I'm sure 98% of coaches around the country would love to have this "limited" roster. It would be horrible trying to figure out how to play Knox and Vanderbilt at the same time because they're both 4's.

October 24, 20178 yr I may not be remembering correctly because I'm not a UK fan and don't tend to spend much time in those threads. I thought one of his takes was that there were too many guys that played the same position. I knew there was something about you I liked
October 25, 20178 yr I dont see how we can be that bad. We have some experience back, at least somewhat. Hamidou Diallo Wenyen Gabriel Sacha Killeya-Jones Tai Wynyard
October 25, 20178 yr I dont see how we can be that bad. We have some experience back, at least somewhat. Hamidou Diallo Wenyen Gabriel Sacha Killeya-Jones Tai Wynyard Only problem with the above is: 1) Diallo didn't play a minute in a real game. 2) Sacha didn't play a real minute after December I believe. 3) Wynyard is really just a practice body. 4) Gabriel is the only hope and he had more "bad" games in the last 2 months of the season than good games.
October 25, 20178 yr I don't think that this team will be Cal's worst. A first round NIT loss to Robert Morris is setting the bar pretty low. Plus considering the fact that Cal's teams are normally dependent on good point guard play, I think that either of the two potential players that will fill that role are both better than Ryan Harrow. I think SGA is going to be a lot better than most anticipated when he committed.

Jarrod Polson was playing significant minutes.
October 25, 20178 yr I believe gametime has it broken down pretty much spot on. I don’t think they’re going to be a worse team than 2013 by no means and they will probably be in the top 25 all year. But it’s not going to be a smooth functioning and well rounded team. Looks like an overload of 4’s and not enough numbers at the other positions.
October 25, 20178 yr You can scout these guys all you want, but the only true measure of a team, prior to game one, is how their custom roster performs on the latest installment of NBA 2K. According to my studies, Hami will win the Wooden Award, and SKJ will rack up the DPOY awards. You can't argue with science. We're looking at a 35-40 win team, folks.

But it’s not going to be a smooth functioning and well rounded team. Looks like an overload of 4’s and not enough numbers at the other positions. Are they going to be great? Probably not. Is a perfectly balanced lineup? No. But, the number of players (particularly freshmen) who produce will determine the success of the team whether you want to label them as a forward or a 4 or a post.
October 26, 20178 yr The question originally asked was would this be UK's worst team since 2012-13. So will this team be better than the 2013-14 Randle team that was inconsistent in the regular season, but went on a memorable run to the title game? Will it be better than the 38-1 team of 2914-15? Will it be better than the Ulis/Murray 2015-16 team that lost to Indiana in the 2nd round? Will it be better than last year's Fox/Monk/Bam squad?
