How do you define worst? Overall record or end result?

End resilt.

End resilt.

I like this team's potential at the end but there are going to be more losses than UK fans are used to, IMO.

I’m not sure. Haven’t seen the WHOLE team yet.

It’s hard to get a good grasp on what they’re going to be like without the complete squad in place. Vanderbilt is suppose to be the most versatile player on the team.

What concerns me is Richards has a long way to go at center, and I keep thinking back to one of gametime’s post in another thread about the fact they have a lot of young talent but as a working team they have too many pieces of a puzzle that fit into the same space.

I don't see them as a 12-13 bad. This team is too talented for that. I see them more of a 10-11 team that struggled to find an identity most of the year. By the time the tournament comes around I think they'll be playing well enough where they'll have a chance and that's all that matters anyways.

So let's be clear - the end result of the 12/13 team was a loss in the NIT to Robert Morris in the first round. This was precipitated by the lack of a true high level PG and the loss of the clear cut premier prospect due to injury.

Quade Green's progression will determine the ceiling for this team. However, I think the sheer high level depth establishes a floor that will be higher then where the 12-13 team ended up. Basically that is me stating that Quade Green at his lowest will be equal or better to the PG play of 12-13 and the remainder of the rotation, even considering possible injury to 1 or 2 of those in the rotation with the exception of Green, will be equal or better to a Nerlensless 12/13 team. The only way I see us getting knocked out in the first round of the NIT is if Quade and Hami are injured for the majority of the season. And even then, that's not a guaranteed result in that scenario.

I think scoring in the half court will be their issue. They'll play some D and run well in the open court but teams will pack it in on them I think and force them to score at least some over the top and I fear they will struggle with that.

HOT TAKE: The 3 Point Shot made in each game streak, will end this season.

Yes.

You're going too much in detail with your analysis Randy. :D

One of the only things I don't like about Cal's coaching is that he still hasn't embraced the 3. He preaches the two best percentage shots in the game but not the third. He's all about attacking the basket and either getting fouled (best thing that can happen each possession) or getting a lay-up (second best thing). With this team, that steak could be in jeopardy and if college starts to progress like the NBA, the 3 could really hurt this team in some games.

The positive here, is they get to play in the SEC. They’ll be fine.
