May 24, 20179 yr I think of "tourist trap" as something hyped and it underwhelms when you get there. Some of these they just took the most popular spots to be different.
May 24, 20179 yr I've been to 3: Times Square, the Alamo and Graceland. For sure, I would never go back to Graceland. I wish I'd never gone.
May 24, 20179 yr I've been to Buffalo Bills grave in Colorado. The place itself is beautiful. Great views of Golden, Co below the mountain top. Also could see downtown Denver in the distance. You can see the grave itself and a few other things for free. It does cost to enter the museum, but it was pretty reasonable. Both my kids 12 & 13 at the time really enjoyed the museum. It might not be for everybody, but I'm not sure it belongs on the same list as places like South of the Border in South Carolina.
May 24, 20179 yr And here I was sure the tourist trap for KY would be the @Lawnboy13 NCC freshman sports accomplishments museum.:idunno:
May 24, 20179 yr 12 for me California Florida Georgia Hawaii Illinois Louisiana Massachusetts Minnesota Nevada Pennsylvania South Carolina Texas
May 24, 20179 yr I guess they don't like shopping. Since they picked the Mag Mile and Mall of America. Love me some Bourbon Street. If you go to New York, you have to go to Time Square. While it's not the most spectacular place in the world, it's worth seeing and doesn't cost anything. Epcot - didn't care for it Waikiki Beach - Love it The Liberty Bell - I like history, so I liked it. Alamo - "see the Liberty Bell" Graceland - Couple hours of my life I'll never get back. Atlantic City Boardwalk- It is a poor man's Vegas, but on a nice day it's not a bad stroll if you happen to be in the area. Wouldn't make a special trip there though.
May 24, 20179 yr The biggest trap is a stupid article that requires you to make 50 clicks to read it all. No thanks
May 24, 20179 yr I'm anti-religion, you got me. I'm just trying to figure out how they determined that it was a tourist trap. I refuse to make 40 clicks to figure out their basis though
May 24, 20179 yr I'm just trying to figure out how they determined that it was a tourist trap. I refuse to make 40 clicks to figure out their basis though "Last year, this life-size arc and biblical theme park opened in Williamstown, Kentucky. The grounds feature a zip line, because what would a biblical theme park be without one? The fact that this attraction is an ode to one of the most famous biblical stories ever isn't the trap, though. It's their outrageous prices that should make you think twice: tickets are $40 per adult and $28 per child, and zip lining costs at least $50 on top of that."
May 24, 20179 yr I didn't realize it cost that much. That's a big day for a family of 5. I'll pass. Ok I agree lol
May 24, 20179 yr And here I was sure the tourist trap for KY would be the @Lawnboy13 Printer Parts Museum.:idunno: Fixed it for you. LOL
