In recent years Americans, those that you might call conservative or patriotic or small government supporters, have been accused of being hateful for believing in living by the word of God. Americans have been accused of being hateful for a belief in supporting the Constitution and defending freedoms, such as the 2nd Amendment. Americans have been accused of being hateful for wanting our borders secured, yet at the same time supporting legal immigration. Americans have been accused of being hateful because they support smaller government and reduced taxes. Americans have even seen their their patriotism called hateful because they wear patriotic clothing to school or fly the American flag on their cars or trucks. While at the same time they have seen their flag walked on, spit on or burned. If there was not so much of "crying wolf", maybe some might agree, with more evidence, that there may be something to this debate. There are many who are tired of those who want to find a bad guy at every turn. Stop "crying wolf" and maybe somebody might listen.

March 12, 20179 yr I'm not going to get in the conversation of privilege and the likes because it is a frustrating conversation that has been blown up in todays society. I will say the perfect response for the so called offended school would have been to join in on the USA chant. We can talk privilege or being offended and intentions. At the end of the day the chant of USA or waving American flag should not offened any American regardless of intention. You can only be offended if you allow it to offend you.

March 12, 20179 yr From time to time over the years, I have heard student sections from more "privileged" schools — i.e., private religious schools — use the "A-C-T" chant when they play against their, if you'll forgive the phrase, more "urban-looking" rivals. They could just as easily use that chant for their more "suburban-looking" rivals, over whom they probably also have an ACT score advantage on, but they choose the "urban-looking" school instead. And it's not just private schools either. Sometimes the "suburban-looking" public schools get into the act and use the "A-C-T" chant against their "urban-looking" rivals. Coincidence?

March 13, 20179 yr Hard for me to take the offended school seriously when they themselves have their own USA/Patriotic theme for a game. Why are they allowed to do it to other teams, but when it's done against them, it's offensive?
